I am trying to use a Compaq CP-2E router to connect to my Verizon DSL service. My DSL modem is a Westell 2200. I usually use FireFox but tried IE as well.
The router's indicator lights show a connection between the computer and the router, and are otherwise normal but I can't even log in to the router using cp.home as the instructions state.
I tried all the wizard and troubling-shooting options in Windows XP to no avail.
I can connect to the internet with no problem when I go straight from the computer to the Westell modem.
I really need to get this stupid router working so I can utilize an ethernet-based internet cam.
I have been advised by a co-worker to just by a newer router, with better, more modern firmware but is this really the only answer?
BTW, Compaq's instructions claim that the router should just auto-configure with Windows XP. HAH!
I have already wasted hours on this problem, so any help is much appreciated.
