Printer wont print with new ink
SOURCE: my troublesome printer
Did you refill this ink cartridge? If the ink is low or out your printer will not print until the cartridge is reset. If you refill it yourself see http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml. This is free software that will allow you to reset the ink levels. Then the red light will go out and poof you can print.

epson.com, actually you can print using black ink only, but you have to reset the color ink for it to register as full. :) or you can freeze the ink counter using the ssc service utility before the other ink rans out. :)

If you have carried out 4 to 5 head cleans, waited about 8 hours and done another 3 or head cleans doing nozzle checks after each clean (as recommended by the manual) and there is still no improvement then you will need a third party head cleaning solution such as this one:

Other makes & brands are available just google "inkjet head cleaning solution" Hope this helps.

Try this: First check which cartridge(s) are not being recognized. In my case where I replaced all three color cartridges, two were recognized right away but one was not. You find out by sending a print request to the printer and looking at the ink cartridge levels diagram in the dialog window. In my case two of three were fine but one had a red X on it. So I removed it and cleaned the contacts with alcohol then rocked it in the slot after pressing it in. It was recognized and the charging process began as normal.
