Question about Dryers
Our Kenmore electric dryer model 110.96590100 has stopped running; when switch is turned on, a loud unusual noise is heard; When Sears technician was call and he heard the noise, he said motor has gone out; he did not check anything inside the dryer just based on the noise when switch turned on; is that noise enough to indicate motor is bad? I realize the dryer is old and its use has to run out sometime.
Hi, I can determine a motor bad by the noise. Does it hum while holding the start button or is it a grinding deep sound? It can sound like the motor starts slow but once it gets going, it is ok. Sometimes the house lights will dim when the motor statrs going bad.
Let me know if I can help you further.
