There's no good way to feed photos on the Brother. It's designed for plain bond paper and doesn't do well on photos at all.

Uneven feed

machines can have single or double feeders. what type does yours have? feeding problems can usually be fixed by a good cleaning+ oiling of the feeder mechanism which regularly gets clogged with lint+threads/scrap threads. brush it out thoroughly with a stiff-bristled brush like an acid brush. apply 1 drop of oil to each feeder seen on the foot-plate. wipe excess oil off with a clean dry rag being sure not to get any debris from the rag caught in the feeder(s). other problem might be your bobbin tension. this is usually adjusted on the bobbin race with a very small screwdriver.

When paper is going into the paper feeder it is is getting wrinkled immediately and jamming the feeder

Sounds like someone got something stuck in the ADF (Auto Document feeder). See if it looks like the paper is really getting wrinkled up more on one end than the other and focus on that side of the feeder. I have seen post it notes cause this problem. People put in their originals and forget to remove post it notes before feeding the documents through. They come off and get stuck in the feeder. Without more detail it is hard to say what is stuck in there but it sounds like there is something impeeding the paper path. Shine a flashlight in there to see.

That's a "paper jam" error that can be fixed by removing all paper and pressing the resume/cancel button. Then replace the paper in the feed chute.
The printer can straighten out a crooked feed to a very limited degree. The photo feeder attachment can interfere with a really full 8x11 feed. The i860 is very susceptible to overfilling the 8 1/2 x11 feeder without notice until you try to print. I usually remove the photo feeder until I need to print photos, and keep the regular paper feeder no more than 3/4 full. I pull out the regular paper when printing photos.

Brother MFC 8440 Scanner has a line

Whoaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No need to da all that. Lift up the Doc feeder and look at the SMALL strip of glass, you will see a dot or something on it, clean w/alcohol. Voila taken care of. the dot ( pen mark, white out, etc...) makes a line because the document is Moving and that dot now looks like a line to the copier. :)

Brother DCP8020D Document Feeder

Clean rubber rollers with metho, run a page by hand of laminate or stiff card threw the doc feeder. Stick it where the paper comes out of DF and ensure path is clear.

Push down on left side or tape down little black switch (rear left corner near glass)while trying to use df to confirm hinge aint the issue

If it is the rollers it should feed when paper is "helped a little" with hand at feed time

Ensure prints ok when using glass instead of df to know it is df problem

Cheers

Epson stylus photo r340 paper feeder

the friction feed roll might be dirty from paper lint, ink glazed or it might have something stuck in it ( a piece of paper from a jam etc.)
