Interference phone line

When I call from USA to Asuncion Paraguay. The person I talking to says that we have lots of interference. That barely I can be understood, but I can Hear that person clearly. But then when that person calls me the interfence is gone.
Then I had an idea I call in my cell phone and the interference was not there.
The phone I was using before is cordless phone. So I thought to plug in a corded phone and the interference was not there.
My cordless phone is a GE 5.8 GHZ. I bought this phone about 2 or 3 months ago.

Re: interference phone line

Lots of different devices may be interfering with the transmit side of your phone. In today's world of heavy radio frequency usage by consumer devices it is hard to know exactly what may be interfering with your cordless phone. Even some cell phones could be causing the interference. The 6.0 gig phones do not have that problem.

Interferance on the line so can't hear the other person, this sis 2nd set of phones as returned 1st lot when panasonic said it was a prob with phone??

Mus be sumpin' wrong wit' yo' environment.

Do you have any other 2.4 Ghz devices, like microwaves, Telzon scanners, wireless internet and the like? Pana phones are pretty reliable, the dect even more so. Try moving the base to another location or change channels if you have a wireless internet.

Our line one cuts out even when we're talking on it & we can just barely hear the person on the line but they can hear us clearly. We have unplugged the phone's power cord & plugged it back in...

I have the same sort of My Vtech sorta 'cuts out' when there is noise at my hosue. The person I'm talking to can still hear me but I can't hear them. If my son starts crying or there's any other loudish type noises on my end, it's like the phone is trying to cutout my background noise, but all it's cutting out is the person talking to me. It's not that the noises in my house are loud and I jsut can't hear the person I"m talking to, b/c if i cover the mouth peice then no matter how loud the sound in my house is i can still hear the person i'm talking to but I HAVE to keep the mouth peice covered. It's really annoying!

I have a Philips CD140 cordless phone and want to lock it while I'm away, is there any way to do that?

Is it house mates you don't trust? Is it use of the phone or use of the line that concerns you? Are you concerned about the device disappearing?

If it is the device you are concerned about ... lock it in a closet or cabinet or take it with you. If it is use of the phone line ... disconnect your line from the DeMark (if you are in the USA). There is really no way to prevent a determined person from making unauthorized calls on your line short of having the company suspend your service while you are gone.

Best thing to do is have a talk with your house mates ... remembering there is allways the bill that comes at month end.

I hope this reply has helped you with your situation.

Uniden 3315 Frequency Problem

Your phone has Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT), known as Digital European Cordless Telephone[1] until 1995, The digital filters will prevent interference from the bandwidths used by phones and wi-fi.
Your phone also incorporates dynamic channel allocation which switches frequencies when noise(static) is encountered.
Eventually your conversations take a wire route down the road. You are getting some "cross talk", an actual scientific term used to describe signal transmission from one line parallel to another by magnetic eddy currents. I would call the phone company and have them trace the problem.

Background static

1. How old are you phone lines in the house?  Check the "main" terminal connections.  Clean and reconnect.  (Make note how the wires are connected).

2. The power transformers for the phones maybe you trouble also. Unplug all except the main unit.   Check each transfer one at a time. Do you have static?  One or more may be your problem.  Replace the bad ones if needed.
