HP Laserjet 4250 PCL6 prints only one page

I can't print more than one page and it takes pretty much time.

I unistalled and re-installed the printer & controllers (from CD) and it didn't work.

    Not VISTA, OS= Windows XP
I had reinstalled drivers when I wrote my question.
The printer is in network and other people use it without problems.

I am also having the same problem, I go to print a multiple page document and the printer prints the first page and then says to load paper even though the tray is full. However, this problem is not consistent, some jobs print fine, others do not.

Same issue but I have 2 printers. Same firmware and driver versions and PCL6 driver. Only one printer showing the problem, both jet direct network connection using legacy IP config. Only one printer has a problem and all printer settings are the same (apart from IP address!)

The same problem with printing the whole document on to only one page on some laserjets in our work is after microsoft made the last update of their XPs(automatically in our firm), IE is now the latest, but prints are **** now. It waits on paper too even it is there. Microsoft update sucks!

Try using the PCL5 version drivers, if you are using PCL6; it tends to be slower, it worked for my printer.

Vista??? will be a driver issue, are cd drivers correct for your system?

Goto canon web download correct driver, delete old reinstall, most operating system will have this driver standard.

doubt printer problem prove by doing test prints via printers menu.

99percent of the time It will be a network issue. "The printer is in network"

Can't be printer "other people use it without problems"

Can't be driver, "I had reinstalled drivers when I wrote my question"

The only other thing is if you have something strange set in printdriver options. check em

I've had this problem before as well. I went into advanced printer settings and restored factory defaults.

I am using hp 3505 color lesser printer on windows 7 32bit, Driver that was installed automatically by windows is "HP Color LaserJet CP3505 PCL6" My tray 1 that is multipurpose tray is printing slo

Make sure that you have tray 1 set for the correct paper type. Leaving the paper type as unknown will result in very slow printing as the printer will assume that it might be printing on heavy media, envelopes or the like.

I have changed my pc, reconnected my hp laserjet 4250, installed drivers but now although the option for print both sides is clicked it doesn't print it. Any ideas??? Cause i have to print a 500 pages book...

There isn't too much to go on in your description. Taking a guess that you are running Windows....and if you are printing from Word...and that your printer has a duplexer sticking out the back...click on the Print icon/select the printer/select properties/select finishing/check "print both sides". Select OK, select print.

Not so much a problem but got message printed out while trying to print a document. Unsupported Personality: UNKNOWN. Does this mean something I should be concerned with ??

An error page will print with the words "Unsupported Personality: PCL " in the upper left hand corner. The printers are host-based and do not support PCL printing; therefore, installing an alternate PCL5e or PCL6 printer driver will frequently generate this error condition. NOTE: This error condition occurs by design when an attempt to print with a PCL5e or PCL6 printer driver occurs and is NOT a bug within the product software. SOLUTION: Install the correct HP LaserJet Host-Based Printer Driver or the HP LaserJet printing system software for the product. These drivers are available for download from the HP web site. Click here to go to the HP web site drivers and downloads page. NOTE: There are several programs (such as accounting, invoicing, court documentation applications) that are 16 bit (DOS) programs with a 32 bit (Windows) overlay. Due to the nature of these applications and the associated Windows overlay, the errors may continue with the correct printer drivers. These applications do not typically support a host-based output device, and as such would not be supported in these environments.

How do i stop it printing a file directory after each print job

Hi,
I think you have installed the generic driver from the CD.
I recommend to install the UPD PCL6 (universal printer driver) from www.hp.com/go/upd

Let me know the result.

Installing driver

Hi jjcr_7 - What is the make/model of your printer? (There are several different variations of this printer model):
» HP LaserJet P3005 Printer
» HP LaserJet P3005d Printer
» HP LaserJet P3005dn Printer
» HP LaserJet P3005n Printer
» HP LaserJet P3005x Printer

If you are using Microsoft Windows XP - Please visit the link below and download the PCL6 Univerisal Printer Driver. After you install the printer using the add new printer feature and select the option to browse (find the folder you downloaded the driver to) and install the printer. You can also install just the software which you can use if necessary or you want the HP software on the machine for user friendly help in the event of an error or support from HP to diagnose your problems.
(Copy and paste this link into your browser)
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=1846089&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=1846088&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=228

If you have already installed the software - uninstall the printer first then uninstall the software - delete the folder it creates in the Program files folder for HP. (Do this before installing just the printer with the driver)

Some times when you download the software from the websites they don't always install the correct printer or driver type. Often just downloading the driver from the page will be the best option.
