I purchased a TV from a local here in Jacksonville. It worked fine on his previous HD Box. It is a different model than what I have now.
The screen states: "Component 3 - Not Supported Mode"
This is because of the type of Component Video being used. Let me explain We got so use to the term RGB to explain component video we for got that there are two standards for component video and they are not compatible. These two standards are Component Analog Video (Y, R-Y, B-Y) and Component Digital Video (Y/Pb/Pr) or (Y/Cb/Cr)
Now, the problem is they never told us the public which one to use and when, they only told us RGB. Now to complicate things, you have have to figure out which one to use. So here is a helpful yet flawed hint:
If the TV was made after 2003 use Component Digital Video (Y/Pb/Pr) or (Y/Cb/Cr)
If the TV was made before 2003 use Component Analog Video (Y, R-Y, B-Y)
Yes this is flawed but for the most part it's good.

I just replaced the DLP mirrior chip. Now I can see the picture, but when there is a dark or black color scene there are large blurry circles that are forming a line down the middle, almost like a halo, but you can still see the picture behind it. When the tv first goes off it stays there (the blurr).

My Samsung HLR6167 flickers when it gets to a bright scene. This only happens when using component inputs. I have an Xbox 360 and DVD Player connected using component cables. I have temporarily hooked up my DVD player with HDMI and it works perfectly with no flickering. When I switch them back, the flickering happens again. I have also bought new components cables and double checked that I have the cables correctly hooked up. I only have one HDMI hookup on my tv and my xbox 360 does not have an HDMI port so I have to hook that up using component cables. Is there a simple solution for me without having to call in a tv technician? Even if it involves me changing out a board in the TV? Any help that could be offered would be greatly appreciated.
