Yeaterday, my 2002 Acura MDX Navagation system began constant resetting and cycling into the power-up sequence. Just prior to that, it was taking a *long* time to do things, when reacting to a button being...

I had posted the similar problem with my 2002 Navi. It turned out to be a bad DVD/base unit. Unfortunately, just about all of the advice posted here was incorrect. The DVD unit is basically a complete computer and it sends raw video signals to the display unit just like a PC sends video to an LCD display; when the computer dies or is off, the display goes blank. So, any problems with sluggish or unusual behavior indicates the base unit is going bad. In my case, it was so dead that it couldn't event eject the DVD - I had to literally take the DVD drive apart to get my disc out. I bought a used Navi DVD base unit online from "acurahondatech" on eBay. This guy was great; he helped me diagnose the problem and found the right unit to work with my model MDX. I highly recommend him.

2004 Acrura MDX navigation system goes blank after disclosure.

I had the same problem and carefully cleaning the map DVD solved it. After years of use, a film gets built up on it. It is under the front passenger seat.

2004 Honda Accord touch screen will not accept code numbers

DOES SYSTEM INTAKE CODE YOU TYPE AND RETURN WITH ERROR MESSAGE OR JUST PLAIN HAS LOCKED SCREEN? SYSTEM IS DESIGNED SO THAT IF INCORRECT CODE IS INPUT MORE THAN THREE TIMES SYTEM LOCKS ITSELF.WHICH REQUIRES THAN THE NAVI UNIT BE UNPLUGGED FROM BATTERY POWER FOR ABOUT 5-10 MINS TO RESET ITSELF.NOW INCORRECT CODE CAN BE DUE TO WRONG CODE/SERIAL # CARD FOR VEHICLE, UNIT HAS BEEN REPLACED IN PAST POSSIBLY AND YOU ARE INPUTING CODE FROM OLD UNIT UNKNOWINGLY. YOU ALSO WANT TO MAKE SURE CODE YOU ARE TRYING TO INPUT IS FOR NAVI-SYSTEM AND NOT THE RADIO CODE FOR THE STEREO. IF ALL ABOVE CHECKS OK THEN NEXT STEP WOULD BE TO REMOVE UNIT TO RETRIEVE SERIAL NUMBER FROM BACK OF NAVI UNIT THEN GO TO NEAREST DEALARSHIP WHO CAN THAN RUN S/N THROUGH HONDA IN SYSTEM AND RETRIEVE CORRECT CODE FOR THAN SERIAL NUMBER. LET ME KNOW HOW IT GO'S

Rearview backup camera not working, flashing screen. Not tailgate camera wire problem. Please Click "Want Answer" to get this question answered. Just to start out, I have replaced the entire camera wiring harness so a broken wire there should not be the culprit.I've had the MDX for a 4 years and the camera and Navigation have not worked for years. I recently replaced the Navigation unit hoping it would also fix the camera issue. Now the Nav is working as it should but the camera is still not working, still flashing between black and white with no picture visible. I have been able to bring up the brightness menu through the nav screen to adjust up or down screen brightness but it has no impact when I increase or decrease the brightness. I've read a lot on about every possible forumn. When my MDX is in reverse, my backup camera does not work. I did research and find the most common reason for failure related to severed wires (red wire usually) in the passenger side boot between the tailgate was broken. Mine was broken too and I started with soldering the wires together but that didn't work. I then purchased ($28) a new OEM Rearview Camera wiring harnes from Acura. I replaced the entire wire harness to solve the issue but the camera still does not work. All fuses are checked and good, reverse lights work, light bulb in hatch door is working. No damage in wires between the Camera and new wire harness. That leaves me with a possible bad Rearview control unit (havent been able to find this yet) or a bad camera assembly. Maybe some other internal wiring issues between display and control unit. I've tried to take the passenger side interior panels off but saw it was going to be a pretty big job so I thought I should ask before I gave up. Please help. I have a cheaper volt meter, has red and black lead, but haven't learned how to use or read it yet. I wish I knew. The main difference I have noticed between others that have been able to fix their problem by reconnecting the wires is that their screens are blank, which indicates they just aren't getting power to the camera. My screen flashes between white and black about every second.
