My kitchen aid stand mixer startnig making noise and wobbling. I noticed that the pin attaching the top to the base has been pushed out halfway and I can't push it back. Any solutions?

Remove the bowl, turn it upside down on a towel, look up inside the pedestal. Right in the middle where the hinge pin goes through there is a screw, unscrew it a little, push the hinge pin back to where it belongs and then tighten the screw up tight. Turn mixer up the right way, raise head up, fit bowl & flat paddle. Lower head & turn machine on low, listen for paddle tinging on bowl, if it is touching turn off and raise the head. Look into hinge area from the front, that screw is the head height adjustment. Clockwise to lower paddle in bowl, anti clockwise to raise. You want to lower it until you hear the paddle tinging on the bowl & then raise it enough to clear without tinging. You don't wind the screw in & out huge amounts, 1/4 to 1/2 a turn at a time is plenty.

Kitchen aid stand mixer motor head sags

you need to adjust the beater height screw in a tilt head model, but if it is a new pro series model you may need to replace the lower gear case due to a broken screw mount. we really nee more info like what model it is and that can be found on a white sticker underneath the mixer in the open cavity of the base support.

KitchenAid KSM150 bowl won't stay put

I'd be looking at making sure the beater is not banging on the bowl and that the head hinge isn't loose. The bowl is secure on the base with this system that has been in use for decades so you are looking for a fault not a re-design of the system. The friction of the mix in the bowl should logically tend to tighten the bowl, not undo it. I have seen a malformed bowl once where the lugs weren't big enough and I suspect that it's possible for there to have been the odd malformed bottom plate with not big enough lugs.

The tilt-up head on my KitchenAid KSM90 stand mixer has a lot of free play, the head moves (bounces)up & down when mixer is in use. Adjusting the beater for clearance using the dime method, when you...

The head bounce sounds as if the locking hook is not engaged properly when you slide the head-lock lever to the locked position.

If this is the case, you will need to disassemble the mixer to make sure the link from the lever to hook is not bent. Another possibility is that the slot in the base the hook engages. If this is broken away, the hook will not be able to hold the head in place (I sure hope that this is not the problem).

Kitchenaid mixer. Top is loose so it bounces when

Hi MJANKOW520. I?m going to assume your KA mixer is a ?Tilt-Head? mixer. You don?t say specifically. Based on your description of the symptoms you mixer exhibits, I would say that your head locking mechanism (or a component) of it is either broken, worn or loosened due to normal wear and tear and need to be readjusted (or repaired) for it to keep your mixer head stationery. The inspection and troubleshooting of the inside of your mixer is a DITY capability, particularly if your mixer is out of warranty. Just be sure to have the Parts List manual on hand. If you're lacking one, you can download a PDF version from the KA website: http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home. Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals & Guides> Enter the 6 character model number, in your case, try K45SSW, and select the file listed under Parts List (check to see it this matches your mixer model). This parts list manual provides an exploded view for the disassembly and reassembly of your mixer, along with all the part name and numbers. Turn to page3, titled: Base and Pedestal Unit. You?ll want to focus on Illus. #9, Link & Lever Latch assembly, which locks the mixer head to the pedestal when run your mixer. Check to see if something is just loose, exceedingly worn or broken. If something has broken, you can order replacement parts and install yourself. As far as parts go, here are four potential vendors in no particular order: RepairClinic.com; mendingshed.com; searspartsdirect.com; partstore.com. Prices for the same part can vary widely between vendors, so do your comparison shopping. Once apart you can check for any other unseemly wear and tear on other mixer components. It can be messy but quite gratifying to diagnose and repair your mixer yourself. Finally, here's a link to an excellent site that details the disassembly and replacement of a mixer's grease, which might be helpful, too. http://www.foodonthefood.com/food_on_the_food/2009/04/how-to-repair-a-kitchenaid-mixer-yourself.html If you feel this is beyond your capabilities and would be too difficult to do yourself you can take your mixer to a local small appliance repair shop and have them troubleshoot and fix your mixer. KA Customer Care can provide you with the name and phone # of the closest authorized KA repair shop in your area or you can do a Online web search, but be sure to get at least three estimates before deciding to commit to one repair shop. Good luck. I hope this helps. Howard, Burke, VA If this solution has helped you, please rate it, thanks! - hslincoln

I have to physically hold my Artisan mixer in place or it will go off the counter, even at low speeds. Seems to rotate fine as long as the head isn't down with an attachment on and in the bowl.

I think from your description that the the head connecting to the base shaft needs tightening. Put the mixer on it's side. Look up inside the base and you'll see a small set screw.
With a flat blade screw driver tighten that screw and it should stop moving. If it doesn't you probably need another shaft because it's worn.

The beaters don't fit anymore

It depends on how mechanical you are. The old part will probably need to be cut off since it is pressed into the base of the rotating head. Parts are available from many sites like partstore.com and the like.
