Recording cell phone's greeting externally

I would like to record my son's cell phone greeting (he passed away last month) so I can keep it forever. I don't want to use an external recorder and hold it up to the phone's speaker. Is there a way to download the greeting file from the phone itself, save it, then copy it to a cd?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Recording cell phone's greeting externally

I am very sorry to hear about this loss.

I would suggest you to check with the voice record of the mobile, Your son might have recorded his voice here. For this go to Tools and check Voice records.

Good luck.

Re: Recording cell phone's greeting externally

Im sorry to hear about your loss.

The voicemail is not stored "in the phone" it is on the cellular providers system. It is like a virtual anwering machine.

Your best course of action would be find someone who has VOIP (voice over I.P., an internet based phone system) and have them call the cell phone to retrieve the voicemail and record it with the computer via a sound recording program. This would provide you the best sound quality.

Otherwise, you might want to speak to the phone company to see if they have a system in place to save the recording for you.

Best of Luck.

How do I change voicemail recording on nokia c3-00

I did a google search and it led me to this screen as I was after the same thing. I looked that what has been said here and did not understand the need to 'unlock' just to change a voice mail greeting.

This is what I did.
I looked through my phone and this is how I was able to change my voicemail greeting recording.1. Menu2. Messages
3. More (scroll down to)
4. Voice Messages (scroll down to)
5. Listen to voice msgs
From here you will hear a number of prompts to direct you.
To start, hit 8 and then 4, from there you should find instructions on changing the recording and it only takes a minute.

I hope this helps future people looking for the same thing.

On your handset, press the Mute (the button also has an envelope to indicate messages). Press 5 on the handset to stop the playback of messages (if any are on the machine). When the handset beeps, press 8 on the keypad of the handset. When you hear "Record greeting", then speak your message. When you are done, press 8 or 5 to stop recording.

Note the answering machine must be on before you start. Press the On/Off button on the base.

I hope this helps.

I have a telepghone set - Model # KXTG 1061 and can't change the voice message. My phone # has changed and I need to re-rerecord the greeting. I have only a button that says CID and Menu. How do I...

If you want to change the greeting for the answering system, make sure that it is on. Press Ans On on the base to toggle the answering system on or off. (Alternatively from the handset, when in idle mode, press Menu. Then press # 3 2 7 and the press the Off key. This turns the system on.)

To record a greeting message, press Menu. Then # 3 0 2 and use the up/down arrows to choose Yes. Then press Select. After you hear the beep, hold the phone about 8 inches away from you and speak your message clearly. Press Stop to end the recording (max length of 2 minutes and 30 seconds). Then press Off. To play back the greeting, press Menu # 3 0 3 . Press Off when done.

The manual for the telephone is available here: .

I hope this helps.

I have a Samsung T406 cell phone. How do I record a new greeting message?

That usually has to do with the cell phone provider's voice mail, not the cell phone.
Call your voice mail. Instead of listening to messages listen to all the menus.
You'll want something like "setup" "record new outgoing message" or things like that. Usually you can listen and choose to save or do a new recording. You might need to press star (*) or pound (#) buttons to save or cancel the recordings - or maybe numbers 1 or 2.
