Question about Dell Dimension E510 Dual Core 2.8 Ghz (847403171179) PC Desktop

1 Answer

I had a amber/yellow light flashing and my e510 would not start up. I changed the mother board and still no change. I changed the power supply and still no change. I read about the port near the start button having pins crushed when used as a USB port. I straightened the pins and the blinking yellow light stopped. But now it still won't start and the only light is on the mother board.

My dell sx 280 optiplex desktop pc when i put on coming yellow light so no working what is the problem

if the power LED is a solid amber color, the motherboard on device attached to the board has failed. Disconnect all external connections except power, remove any expansion cards, power system on see if any change, if change add items back one at a time, if no change replace motherboard
If power LED is flashing amber, replace the power supply

Steady amber Power light

You are looking at a new mother board. I would take it to a certified technician shop, so they can run a stress test on the motherboard for final benidiction.

Fast flashing yellow light today was

The flashing amber is an error code. Dell Tech support will need to be called in order to troubleshoot as Dell does not publish it's codes. I know when my old E510 did this they started by replacing the psu, when this didn't correct the problem they sent me a new motherboard. Hope this helps.

Boot up problem

Unplug all the Harddrives, Cd Drives attached to the motherborad. Try turning up the system. If it boots, you may to have to change the I/O cables.
Still if it is amber, then your motherboard is having the problem with. As long as the LED glows PCU gotta be okay.
Kindly get back for futher help

Dimension E510 Dual Core Problem.

It's an issue. Please do not rate this answer. Dell support is the worst. Search the Internet for other vendors who sell Dell parts. It's a growing list of competent companies.

Pover up trouble

sounds like something is drawing down on your 12 volt supply drives or on board regulators. Try it without the drives connectged, and see if you can get the system to boot up(you'll just get a notice that your drives are unavailable, but you'll already know that, right?

got backup for your Dell?
