Question about NEC Computers & Internet
I just moved my monitor from one desk to another and during the transfer something must have gone wrong with it.
It lights up and power goes to it, and when i turn it on it flashes for half a second and i can see everything. Then it goes dark and i can see very very faintly what is displayed.
I was able to get enough light on it to mess with the funtion tool on the moniter and turn the brightness up to full, but that did nothing.
Sounds to me like its either the inverter or the lcd. If you can get the monitor apart go ahead and reseat the lcd cable cause it could be that the cable came loose during the move, it could be halfway in and halfway out.
After you do that see if the monitor works then, if not then try a different monitor on the computer, if you still get dim video with the known good working monitor then you know that the video card is bad.
If you get a good picture with a known good working monitor then you know the original monitor is bad.
Keep in mind that LCD's are sensitive and even if they get slightly hit, it could be enough to knock them out of commission.

Sounds like a cable issue. Since this is a NEC monitor the cable has connectors on both ends. Turn off the monitor disconnect both ends and reconnect, then turn it on.
