That's just common sense. Is there any more technical advice, maybe a fuse or reset sequence?

Dear Mmally1323,

You said "My Canon PIXMA iP4000 will not turn on. Printer was working great until i went to turn it on and there was no power."

First off make sure that your powre cable is securely plugged into your printer and into the wall. If the printer still doesnt turn on then try to plug it into a different wall socket, as the socket could be 'dead'.

Power light suddenly went out. If I unplug, wait, and plug back in, the power light comes on momentarily, then goes out again.

Same problem here with IP4000. Power light comes on for a second and then dies. Let me know if you get a resolution.

A paper jam which I cannot see or access in my PIXMA MP630

With no other information forthcoming I turn the power off, took the paper tray out & turned the printer upside down. I could finally see some paper hidden there and gently with tweezers manipulated it back the way it went in and solved the problem Not so technical but it worked! Thanks for your help.

Yesterday I got a message that the print head needed to be reinstalled. This morning when I turned on the computer, I found I couldn't turn on my Canon Pixma iP4000 printer. I checked the power cord, and...

The print head is what is holding your ink cartidges and can be removed. Do as it says and remove it and then reinstall it. If that fails to work, you can try going somewhere like Staples to pick up a new print head, if they have any in stock.
Thats a really decent printer by the way; a great deal when they came out and a solid performer.
Good luck!

Reset the ink waste tank code, and now pixma ip4000 won't turn on

Try removing the printhead and power up, if it works you need a new printhead. Many times when the printhead goes bad the machine won't power up.
