To connect to the internet, it's necessary to have an IP address assigned to the server, workstation (pc) or any other device that will provide services on the internet. There are two types of IP addresses, public and private. The public IP addresses are assigned to the devices that provide the services on the internet that people use when they connect to the net. Think of your favorite website; it will have a public ip address. The computer you use to get to your favorite website will also have an ip address. However, it will have a private ip address which is NOT visible on the internet. NAT (Network Address Translation) is the method your router uses to send information from your pc's "private" ip address to your favorite website's "public" ip address. When you say you need to change your NAT, what is it you're trying to accomplish?

How to change NAT type to open, for Black Ops 2 on PC!! With a Greyfox router

You want to setup a Virtual Server. Noted on pg 12. You are basically assigning ports to be available outside the firewall / NAT.

I think these are what need, but I'm not sure. I don't game, so just ask a bud if I'm wrong.

I am trying to get on to xbox live and it says that my nat setting is moderate I was trying to figure out how to use a upnp or what ever that is to get it to work

You are trying to open the NAT on the router for X-box.
For this you will need to reduce the MTU settings on the router to 1365.
You will also need to trigger some ports on the router.
For this you will need to open the router set up page.

I have a Motorola WR850G i am looking to open my nat type for my ps3 system i also have a DSL Verizon cable modem which i have open the nat type for that now I'm trying to figure out how to open my nat...

If your using a router, you have to ENABLE the UPnp within your router settings. Once enabled your NAT should be OPEN.
If you do not know how to get into your router, you will need to ask someone you trust to do this.

I need to change my nat type from strict to open

This router does not have the typical "strict or open" NAT types. Looking at the manual, it looks like what you want is NAT enabled and SUA only enabled.

Page 133 has the details.

Log into router
go to the NAT tab
Enable NAT
Enable SUA only

Change NAT to open

maybe instead of nat, set you xbox as a DMZ host. This would be done on the router itself. It will allow the Xbox to bypass the firewall and nat on the router/gateway, and at the same time keep your computer safe.
