nitevision is in monochrome.. but if the irs dont work in that camera need to either get an ir light for that unit or replace that specific camera..the ir board is burnt out..or disconnected..I have several systems in use at different locations and I do installs for residential locations..I get some of my units off ebay..
I had the same problem. Did their online tech support and Patty told me to hold down the "rewind" button on the DVR for 20 secs. You should now be able to right click your mouse to access the on screen menu. You will now want to go under system, and a/v setup and change the device to VGA instead of Vout. Now you can reboot and not have to go thru holding down the buttons anymore. Worked for me.
The infrared (IR) LED / remote may have stopped working. Since it emits IR light when used, you won't be able to actually see the light with the ***** eye. This makes it difficult, but not impossible to determine if the LED / remote is working or not. You can see if it works by pointing it a night time security camera - the type that has it's own built in IR LEDs to light up the area and does not need visible light to shine on the area (some video cameras can also "see" this light when playing back video taken of an active IR light source). Either record or have someone watch the display while pressing a button on the remote and aiming at the camera. You should be able to do this in broad daylight it will look like a flashlight shining into the camera.
If the LED in the remote is proved to be functioning, the IR receiver in the switch, or some other internal part of the switch may have failed. Since the receiver doesn't light up - there's no way to determine if this is the case without actually replacing the switch. It doesn't matter really, as there are no user replaceable parts in the switch - it either works, or it doesn't.
Ultimately, the best way to troubleshoot will be by replacing components with known good types. Use a battery that tests "good" on a tester, in a new or known to be good remote, used on a new or known to be good switch. You'd would deal with the situation by swapping only ONE component at a time. Once you change the device that allows to circuit to work, replace the new components with the old - except to last one; as this was likely the component that caused the failure.
Try taking the remote to a Home Depot, Lowe's or other similar store with a display of these switches. Do what you need to do to your remote to see if you can control any of the switches/ lights.
Try pressing '0' on the remote while pointing it directly at the IR sensor. There seems to be some undocumented feature with Zmodo systems that use this as a first guard against unauthorized access. Mine occasionally quits responding and I came across this in a forum post somewhere sometime back. The system should beep when you do this and toggle between one beep and two, one or the other unlocking the controls. Just try it after each beep sequence as I can't recall which is unlock.
Please try this: 1) Test the remote: The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals. 2) If the remote checked out OK, then look at the back of the TV for the "REMOTE INPUT", use a mini-phone plug and insert the plug into the remote input jack in and out a couple times to clean the switch contacts that select between the front IR receiver of the TV or the rear panel IR input jacks.
It should go to automatic night vision. If this feature is not working then the answer to will a flashlight work the answer is not very well. The light will have to be on the child and a flashlight does not have much light behind it. Perhaps if you put a small lamp on a dresser that shines on the area the child is, this may work enough to keep an eye on him/her. A flashlight not so much. Hope this helps.
error 020000 relates to flash/flash charging...if new, take it back.I have repaired several by replacing the IR LED flash...easier fix than the incandescent units.
