I had a motorcycle that did that. Was a bad coil that only showed up after it was ran and heated up. As soon as it cooled off it was fine for a few more miles. Replace the coil.

The blower loses power and quits. I've found oil and gas in the air intake filter. It runs fine for about 5 minutes then quits.

It isn't unusual to find the intake is wet with two-stroke mix but it shouldn't be excessive.

You didn't say if it will restart straight away or if it must be allowed to cool. You didn't say how it quits - whether it cuts dead like it was switched off, stops dead like it got jammed or something or whether it fades out like it has run out of fuel?
You didn't say (if it fades out) whether gradually engaging the choke or cold start will extend the run time.

It is being precise about symptoms that will kick-start the diagnostic process.

If it is like it was switched off it is possibly losing the spark when it gets hot. This is an not unknown thing with electronic ignition modules.

'01 Toro Zmaster...cuts off after running 20-30 minutes. will start right back up but will cut off again. After letting cool off I can mow again. changed spark plugs, cleaned air filter

Hi
When your leaf blower quits after it gets hot, you either have a problem with gas flow being restricted into the engine or with the spark. This is a common occurrence on older-model leafblowers. By replacing your spark plugs and keeping your gas lines clear you can reduce the chances of this problem recurring.
Possible Vapor Lock:
Vapor lock happens when excessive heat and vapors build up in the gas tank and aren't vented properly. Check for this problem the next time your saw dies when it's hot. Unscrew the gas cap, vent the gasses and try to restart your blower. If it starts you have vapor lock, and will need to carefully inspect the fuel tank's vent hole to see if it is plugged or damaged. Clean this hole with a brush and rag.

Possible Ignition Problems:
A common problem is an old or dirty spark plug. When the plug gets covered in black carbon the spark will have difficulty firing, especially when hot. You may also have a problem in the ignition module or the coil in the module. Again, run the blower until it quits and then squirt a little starter fluid into the open choke valve, underneath the air filter. If it starts up you likely have a fuel system problem, but if it doesn't start, your ignition module or coil is likely almost finished.
Fuel Supply:
At certain times when the engine gets hot, the flow of fuel to the carburetor can get restricted. This can occur with a dirty fuel filter on the end of your main hose. The hose itself, when hot, can also lose its proper seal to the carburetor, restricting the flow. Replace your fuel filter and hoses on a regular basis, usually once a season. Try adjusting your carburetor's screws to see if you can richen the fuel mixture in the carburetor.
Other Problems:
A dirty or worn-out carburetor can also cause similar problems when hot. You should get your carburetor cleaned and serviced. Try installing a carb kit to older carburetors to help with the flow of fuel. A fuel pump inside the carburetor can also start failing and any warping in the diaphragms will also cause similar problems. You can check for a dirty carburetor by squirting a shot of carb cleaner into the open choke hole just after starting the engine. If you see a lot of thick, dark smoke pouring out the muffler, your carburetor is dirty.

My husgvarna staggers after a while of cutting then dies whats the problem

i am going to guess that it won't restart immediately after it dies either. It sounds to me like an ignition module going bad. it gets hot then cuts off the spark, once it cools down it starts and runs again until it gets hot again

350 fourtrax shuts off

Ignition control (cdi, etc...) may be shot. When they heat up, they can short out or lose contact and this causes the engine to shut down. After cooling off for a bit you are able to run the engine for a few minutes until it heats back up. Easy way to test it is check for spark right after it shuts off.

Have Echo PB 1000 leaf blower that quits running when engine gets hot

Issues like this could well be a ignition unit breaking down when it gets hot.

Got a craftsman leaf blower cranks up and runs fine for about 5 mins then starts losing rpms

ITs hard to diagnose these things over the internet, it could be so many things.
Is this a gradual loss of power? If so; Im sorry to say; that it sounds like its losing compression as it warms up. It is not cost effective to repair the unit.

If the loss of power is more sudden it could be a failing ignition module. Ive even seen spark plugs that quit working when they get hot.

To test this you will need a proper spark tester, laying the spark plug against the head will not provide an accurate assesment, and a can of carb cleaner. Run the unit with the air box cover and filter removed till it fails and immediately give a shot of carb cleaner in the carb and restart. If it starts right up it could be fuel related. IF it doesnt start right up then quickly test for spark. If no spark then its likely the ignition module. If it wont run on the extra fuel and it has spark then it has probably lost compression.

Four stoke mower. Mower starts and runs ok but after a short time (10-15 minutes) the engine stops as though it has run out of fuel. Fuel tap on, filter clean, new spark plug. After a few minutes you can...

Your ignition coil is failing when it gets hot.make sure the cooling fins on the flywheel are not plugged up.you will probably have to replace the coil.

I have a 19992 Subaru Brumby which loses ignition spark

its quite possibly the crank angle sensor as they do this when they heat up,the car wont start, till it cools down, you can get the resistance checked on it to see if its ok,but you will need someone with experience to do it but its not a hard job

Check the prrimary and secondary resistance on your coil. Also check the resistance of the plug wires and plug gap.

Runs 5 minutes then dies. Won't start until engine is cold.

Try the WD-40 spray in intake of throttle body with air intake hose off, to see if it will kick at all, even for a second or 2. We need to confirm whether your losing fuel or spark when it dies. Ignition & fuel, can cause similar symptoms in this case.
