HP Officejet 7310 printer error Remove & Check Cartridge On Right

Keep getting the Remove and Check Cartridge on Right error on the black cartridge. This is a new HP ink cartridge and I've cleaned the contacts on it and the printer where it inserts. Re-inserted over and over and keep getting the same error.

None of those solutions worked. I got out a flashlight and examined the area where the black cartridge plugs in and it looks like I have physical damage on the circuit contacts on the carriage return that the black cartridge contacts mate up to. That must be the source of my problem instead of a software or cartridge issue. Not sure if it's cost effective to get it repaired.

Do you still have your old cartridge and does the old cartridge give the same message? If you receive the message with any cartridge the problem is not related to the cartridges.

Go over this page and follow the instructions exactly
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01423559&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=391182&rule=21016&lang=en

If the problem is not solved you will have to service the product, the printcartridge carrier or its controller is not functioning properly.

Before sending the unit to service there are few things you can try to reset the machine.

Partial reset:
a. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on.
b. Press and hold # and 3 while plugging in the power cord.
c. Wait until "partial reset" displays.
d. Answer questions - Language/country

Semi- Full reset:
a. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on.
b. Press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord.
c. Wait until "Semi full reset" displays
d. Answer questions - Language/country, etc.

Full Reset:
a. unplug the power cable from the printer when the printer is powered on.
b. Press and hold # and 9 while plugging in the power cord.
c. wait untill "Initializing Full Reset" displays
d. Answer questions - Language/country

If noting has helped then the problem is hardware related and the machine needs to be serviced. Contact your dealer or HP for warranty or out of warranty repairs. Warranty repairs are free.

HP 7310 black cartridge keep getting error

You could clean the black ink cartridge. For this you need to remove the black ink cartridge which is present in the printer. In order to clean the laser or scanner block you could use a cotton swab as it would fully clean the dirt. You need to clean the grime and the dried ink present in the printer. This would remove all the hindrances which prevent the ink from flowing. Cleaning the printer heads would also help to solve the problem.

Remove and check cartridge on right. I have removed it several times but still comes up with message and will not work

All I did was replace my black ink cartridge with a new one and it works. You think it would say replace ink cartridge instead of remove and check cartridge on right. Good Luck.

Can you find a friend with a similar HP printer, i.e., one that accepts the same model-number of ink-cartridge? If the cartridge gives the same error-message in the other printer, it's time to responsibly recycle your "dead" cartridge, and give the brand-new cartridge to your friend, for his/her usage.

X-spring tab broken in ink receptacle (HP officejet 7310)

I think you right. There are a lot of small parts which are finely tuned in a printer and most likely something else is still affected.
You probably are better off purchasing a new unit, unless you have the time and patient to figure it out.
Good Luck!

Ink cart error

Is there a metal wire (clip) hooked on black plastic in the ink carriage? If not, these are notorious for breaking the small plastic hook....when broken, the cartridge is not held in proper postion so printer won't recognize that the ink cartridge is installed......no replacement parts are available for this series of printers.
