Question about Bosch HBN 455 Stainless Steel Electric Double Oven

1 Answer

Fan won't turn off & upper oven work in Manual mode

I have a used Bosch HBN456AUC convection oven that the fan just started running constantly. It has been installed in it's current position for about three months with no issues. I also found that the oven doesn't heat if the oven is set to Manual. The oven does heat however if you put it into Timed Mode and set the timer.

I have turned the circuit breaker off and then on and that doesn't clear it. Any ideas?

This sounds like a control panel issue, you may have to replace it, about $300.00

SOURCE: bosch oven

looks as though youre circotherm element has blown (open circuit) you will need to remove oven and check with multimeter should read around 35-37 ohms on 2.5 kilowatt heater if open circuit will need replacing easy to do on most ovens and no too expensive around £30-£35 for element depends on model and output power.

hope this helps

If the oven is electric and fan assisted, then I would suggest that the oven fan element is faulty.

Do you see any Error Message on the Display?

If not, then it should not be a Concern. More often this could be Thermal Fuse on the Back of the Unit ( On Most Models ) will stop the Broil and Bake from Turning ON. You would just start a bake cycle and the temperature will sit at 100 and something degrees and never raise.appliance.

Let me know, once you check the same.

I have a Bosch white single wall oven HBL54AUC. It is very loud and I don't know why. It works...just too loud. Any suggestions? Linda :

Good morning Linda, the noise you're hearing is probably the cooling fan with a bad bearing. That would be the only moving part that would make noise. It's a pain in the neck to get to but fairly easy to swap out. Definitely easier with two people. Or it could be a bad bearing on the convection fan motor. Set it to temp and then open the door once it starts to heat, That will cut power to convection fan and noise will stop.Hope that helps.

If the cooling fan is constantly running then means thermal overload probably faulty, it has failed in closed position.

Most likely part is the oven control board, it has relays on it . There is one stuck. IT is 2235 dollars to replace.

Oven fan not working

If you're referring to the fan in the rear for convection cooking (as opposed to the fan for cooling the electronics), it's replaceable by removing the oven rear panel (power off, of course). Bosch Part 490358
