I concur. $75 or so should be about right. Some laptops require a lot work to change the simplist things. If it is a retail business or something, they might charge more.

Depends on your location and country.I would do this in 15 min and charge you £60 here in the Uk.That would be only labour. That exclude parts...Hope this gives you an idea of labour on these..

Hi there,
Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Does not boot-up and green power light comes on and then shuts off. When I took the keyboard off and tried to boot up-the fan doesnt even start

that usually indicates a dead board or CPU. I'm sorry. Good news is, you can get replacement d600 for about $300. Then you can move your hard drive to the replacement. You can keep the old one as parts for this one, and if in the future you have trouble, you wont need to buy parts, (but youd need to pay the tech)

Finding compatible replacement LCD for my Dell Latitude D600

Since you will need to open your computer and remove the screen to replace it, I suggest you remove it now and look up the part number on it. Then you'll now exactly want part you laptop has.

Alternatively, you can also get a copy of SiSoft Sandra and run it. It should give you the screen make and model

Arrow keys not recognized in Dell D600 bios

Try testing your keyboard on the system's diagnostics. Press F12 as soon as you see the Dell Logo and choose boot to utility partition. Select Test System and you will be prompted to its 32-bit diagnostics. Select Custom Test and select Keyboard as one of the test options. You will be having a test for your arrow keys on this part of the diagnostics. If the arrow keys doesn't respond on the test, you need to call Dell for the keyboard replacement. Just a heads up, most of the time, this is also being caused by motherboard issues. Prepare your service Tag or Express Service Code found at the bottom of your D600 when calling.
