How old is it? Sometimes the lamps need to be replaced or the drivers got corrupted or too many start up items in your Windows start up group preventing speedy access. If it is an USB unit it may depend on how many other devices are plugged in to your USB ports/hub.

Runs for 5 minutes then it spits and spuddles

It seems to like cold,as the engine warms it gets rough?I would like to see the temp sensor numbers as it warms up.Also if it is possibly taking 5 mins to achieve "closed Loop"(using the sensors inputs in closed loop) a good scan would be helpful.

2006 Vue manual trans will not idle once it warms up. Had checked out and shop found no codes on their computer. Told to disconnect battery for awhile and try again, but same problem.

Not going into closed loop? Shop may be using generic scanner. Have a chevy dealer use a GM scanner on it. bet you it will show a code. let me know. Early guess is downstream o2 sensor.

1999 toyota siena p0125

The P0125 code means Coolant Temperature Insufficient for Closed Loop Operation. The P0125 "closed loop fuel control" thing is referring about your vehicle no longer being in "warm up" mode. In warm up mode you vehicle does not rely on sensors, it just follows default values for a specific length of time to warm up the engine, then it will adjust everything according to the sensors's inputs to the computer on the vehicle.
Take care

Will not stay running, once it gets warm runs like a dream .have changed several sensors and has made no change..fule pump filter tpr idel sensor and so on once you get the motor warm she runs fine ,,

The vehicle runs in what is called 'open loop' system when it is cold. The open loop system is a predefined set of parameters (including fuel/air mixture) embedded into the ECM to run the vehicle until the vehicle warms up and goes into closed loop system. Then the ECM works off the sensors.

You could have a failing ECM

Same error codes keep reappearing P0125, P1135,P0171and P1130

It seems this is a fuel problem from the description I get on my scanner for these codes. Is there any way I can get a more in depth explanation than just what shows on the scanner exp. (P0125 closed loop fuel insufficent coolant temp).Changing gas cap and plug wires solved nothing. P-0125 indicates that your thermostat is sticking open. The engine is not warming up enough to change from OPEN loop to CLOSED loop. P-0171 indicates that you have a dirty MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR. Replace the thermostat, and clean the MAF. Then clear the codes and drive it, and recheck for any codes.
