Leaking from the door

We have a leak from the door of our Maytag dishwasher. Everything looks intact so I don't know what would have changed to start the leak. A lot of water is in the basin, could the drain be plugged?

We too have a leak from the front of our Maytag dishwasher. We checked the plumbing fittings and they appear to be fine. We believe the gasket is the problem based upon the source of the dripping water.

This has happened to us a few times. There is a gasket inside the door for a solenoid that operates the flap that opens to let dishwasher detergent out. The gasket went bad and water leaked through.

The only thing to do is replace the gasket. It's a $8 part. (A lot for a 1 inch square gasket!) They seem to last about 2-3 years.

Maytag Jet Clean leaking through right side of door during rinse

It is important to examine the leak to see where it probably originates.

If the water is leaking from the right hand side of the door on your dishwasher, it is time to replace the gasket that seals the door when the door is latched.

My Maytag washer leaks at the door. It doesn't

f you have nuisance water leaks around the base of your dishwasher, you may be using a detergent that is sudsing too much. Cut back on the amount of detergent you use, and see if that makes a difference.
Water that spills through the door vent is usually caused by improperly loading dishes. Leaks from the door itself may be caused by a faulty door gasket or door tightness adjustment.

Also make sure the dishwasher is sitting level (you can adjust the front feet up or down, and many units have some type of levelers at the rear).

Water under the dishwasher may be originating from a leaky hose or loose hose connection. Remove the lower front panel, and check the hoses. The pump seal may be defective, too; replacing this is a job for an appliance repairperson.

An older dishwasher may corrode at the bottom, but this is fairly uncommon. If this is the case with your dishwasher, it's time for a new one.

Leaking from the door

Hi there. Have you started using new tablets. Ours does the same thing if we use certain tablets. Ours is too much soap suds coming over the bottom tray, so If you have filled up all your other fluids and then use a 3-1 tablet it may be producing too much suds. These then overflow out of the door and drip out at the bottom of the door.
Hope this helps! It seems weird I know!
