Your don't ask a question but you're headed in the right direction. Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help. Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

The defrosting heating element may have burnt out. Also if the gasket around the door/drawer isn't sealing correctly moisture from the air leaking in could be condensing inside and then freezing causing the build up.

Water leaking into freezer

It may be the defrost thermostat. This thermostat turns on a heater in the freezer a couple of times a day and melts the ice in the freezer which should go into a tube that leads to a pan underneath the refrigerator, where it sits and evaporates from the heat of the compressor. It could also be the timer which tells the refrigeator to turn off a couple of times a day and tells the defrost thermostat to turn on.

Bottom Freezer has ice built up

Possibly the defrost element is faulty, this is located behind a cover in the back of the freezer compartment and is attached to the fins of the evaporator. It also has a defrost limit thermostat which could also be the problem. I presume that the fan is working after you have defrosted the unit?

Makes a lot of ice on bottom of freezer floor, water all over the floor every day, iced up 3-4 inches needs defrosting ever 2 weeks

drain is blocked - usually with ice and possible you have a fault with the defrost system.
take back cover off inside freezer and you will find ice build up at the bottom. melt off carefully with a hairdryer and follow up with hot water flows away freely.
if the whole of the pipework is blocked with ice, you have a fault with the defrost system so get back to me

Had the same problem. I noticed that the fan in the freezer never shut off so I suspected the thermostat. I ordered and installed a new thermostat (about $30 and 15 minutes to install), the fan now cycles correctly and the ice build up is gone.
