Clarification Request

Thanks for the card stock solution. I used one of those junk mail advertising postcards about 5 in x 9 in. Shoving it through sent a coin out with it. A few more times with paper and I was now 36 cents richer (three dimes, a nickel, and a penny were all in there). Yes, this printer is in a busy area frequented by children!

Works fine once again!

Same Problem

Dec 26, 2008

-   I had 4 of these beasts. They are used every other day quite a bit. I had the "phantom paper jam". I took the advise of the smart folks out there and did the paper force game. I forced a piece of card stock through 5 times. Nothing. BUT then it got half stuck and i pulled it back out. Abracadaba fixed. It could have been due to the huge paper clip that came out with card stock that time. So check you printer of other office supplies that don't belong. :) Thanks to all.-   Guest

My Canon Pixma blinked E3 for days being non-usable. But I tried it and it worked. I cut the back cover off a high end home design magazine. I turned the printer off. Then on... as it rebooted I force stuck the magazine cover into the paper feed. First time nothing changed. I did it again and the printer booted up with a 1 instead of a blinking E3. Thanks By Owner
Maybe there are sensors or switches that had to be reset near the paper rollers. Who knows. And the problem started after changing the black ink cartridge.

Don't know if it's the same problem i had but its maybe worth a try. My paper went in a little, the wheels were turning but it didn't take the rest of the paper or print.
Someone replied to my problem, i tried it and it fixed 1st time. Also seems to of worked for others
Solution:- Use a piece of thin card, a magazine cover is what i used, make sure its A4 size then try to print something, as the paper starts moving push it through! and hey presto it worked for me, everything printing fine now

Make sure you power the printer off. While powered of, disconnect the USB and Power cable from the rear of the printer. Re-attach the power and USB cables. Power the printer on. Normal booting of the printer should take place and it should boot showing a single page is selected to print. Now use a piece of card stock or poster-board cut to 8.5" X 11" and print a test page. The card stock will begin to be pulled through the printer. It may stop. due to a "True" printer jam. Easily pull the card stock from the printer as if it were printing. This should remove any paper jam. You may have to do this more than once. Try this eay method before throwing the printer away as I was about to do. happy printing
