SOURCE: frigidaire refrigerator with ice maker leaks water

It sounds like your ice maker is leaking.
If you are able, try opening up the ice maker for a visual inspection.
just remember to unplug first.
Apparently there is a leak somewhere.
Sometimes ice makers will over flow if the float gets stuck or a connection has come loose.
If you cannot work on it yourself, then I suggest looking up a service technician on the Fixya website.

SOURCE: drip pan needs emptying; had repairman out for other issues, now fridge keeps overflowing

The accumulated ice you saw is of course the source of the water. The refrigerator will eventually rid itself of the excess ice and the problem will therefore disappear on it's own after a while. The drip pan is normally filled with only a small amount of water, and that is dried up by the condenser cooling fan under the fridge. The pan is removable from most units, but not without making a mess. I suppose you can make and clean up the mess one time and be done with it.

What does the tubing from the ice maker water valve go into when you feed into the funnel of the ice maker?

There is probably Ice forming in the end of the water line. I fought this battle for a long time. Then I found the answer. The Freezer temperature is probably too cold. I have read that the temperature must be set to between 0 and 4 degrees. WRONG. It should be colder than 10 degrees and I have found best results with the freezer set to 6 or 8 degrees on the control panel. To test this. Take a blow dryer and heat up the area where the water comes into the icemaker. Use caution it is possible to melt some of the plastic in that area. Then, set the freezer temp to 6 or 8 degrees. It will probably work fine.

I have a great model # tpx24srya-bs refrigerator and when the icemaker is on it leaks water from I don't know where. When Ice makers off there's no leak.

There is a solenoid valve and a plastic water hose that connects to the ice maker. Looking at the rear of the unit you can see where the plastic tubing connects from behind the air shield into the solenoid. A second hose connects from the solenoid to the water inlet connection on the wall. The connection to the wall is probably OK because it would leak with the ice maker off if it did,

It is the hose that goes up from the solenoid through a hole at the upper right top that is the most likely culprit.

Look for water coming from a failed hose at or near the solenoid valve connection where the ambient heat is the highest. It is the heat of the hot air that deteriorates the hose. Replace the hose.

After ten years many are known to fail?

Water dispenser does not shut off

That is most likely a dual water control valve stuck open on back of refrigerator near floor. One side feeds ice maker and other side feeds the water dispenser. If the ice maker side began to leak slowly it would create quite a mess of ice flowing over ice maker and freeze every place it could inside the freezer. There is usually one hose and it could have been moved so its not in the pan any more, you should be able to see it near the pan, from the front with the grill removed, use a coat hanger and hook it back into position, if the pan is over flowing, than that's another problem

Ice forming in Freezer Basin

Hi. That is the only drain for the evaporator water during the defrost cycle. Take the back aluminum cover off again and pour hot water into the drain. If it won't drain, take a hose and put it over the drain and blow into it. That will remove the sludge in the trap and it will drain good now. I've seen alot of nice hardwood floors damaged with this problem. Good luck, Mack
