The fuser on your printer (I'm not sure which model it is that you have), is the heating element that melts the toner onto the paper. You would need to order or have a tech install the new fuser for you.

  1. Remove the printer from any UPS supplies, additional power supplies, or power strips.
  2. Plug the printer into a wall outlet to check whether this resolves the problem.
  3. If the printer is already plugged in, try another power source in the building independent of the one being used.
  4. The line voltage and current source at the printer location might need to be inspected to make sure that it meets the printer's electrical specifications.
  5. Turn the printer off then on.WARNING: Be careful when removing or reseating the fuser. Temperatures can reach 400+ degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. If the message persists, turn the printer off for 30 minutes to allow it to cool, then reseat the fuser after checking the internal wiring connections on the right and left side, ensuring that these connections are properly seated.
  7. If the 50.1 or 50.2 error recurs after power-cycling the printer or when trying to print, try installing a known good fuser from another HP LaserJet 4100 series printer, if available.
  8. If the fuser is near or at the end of its estimated life expectancy (approximately 200,000 pages), then replace the fuser. After replacing the fuser, print a Configuration page, a Menu map (shows fuser settings), an Event log, a Supplies status page, and a Usage page, to reference the status of the new fuser and to ensure that the previous fuser settings are in place with the replacement fuser. When I turn the Printer on, it will initialize and then display an error message "50.7 fuser error" and will not get to 'ready mode' for printing

1. Turn the printer off, wait 10 minutes, and then turn the printer on. 2. If the message persists, reseat the fuser. If that does not work, replace the fuser. To check the fuser, turn the printer off and remove the fuser. Measure the resistance between the fuser connectors. If it is not within the proper range, replace the fuser. If there is not continuity between the fuser connectors neutral and hot with the fuser removed, replace the fuser. If the problem is not related to the fuser, replace the engine controller board. http://printertechs.com/tech/error-codes/error-codes-50-59.php

When a 50.x fuser appear its because the fuser its worn, its probably overheating. I can suggest to take it out (in the back you will see 2 blue locks) for about half hour (turn the unit off before you are doing that) and put it back in. If the error persist you need a new fuser. Good luck

HP Color LaserJet 2840 keeps showing 50.2 Fuser error message. Nothing helps correct problem. What to do? Have tried repeatedly turning printer off, waiting several seconds and turning on again. Each time...

The fuser is the heating unit near the paper exit, and that error means the lamp is burned out, the overtemp sensor is out, or the thermistor in the fuser is bad. About all you can do is replace the fuser. www.precisionroller.com will have a new fuser for you.

Lexmark C772n - 127.07 Service fuser error

I searched the Technical Manual and there is no explanation of the code. The user manual simply says there is a printer failure. They ask that you turn the printer off, wait 10 secs and then restart. Then call 1-800-LEXMARK and they will tell you about the code.

Given that your printer is saying Service Fuser, it is highly likely the fuser is ready for replacement. The fuser is the component that heats to high temperature to fuse the toner to the paper and complete the print cycle.

HPLaserjet4P - printer service 50 -

Hi,

A 50 Service error is a fuser error. Turn the printer off for 5 to 10 minutes, then turn it back on. If the error is still there, I think your going to need to make a service call you can try reseating the fuser, but be sure to let the fuser cool completely before touching it.
Good Luck the HP Laserjet 4p is a great printer.

50 service flashing on display screen

If the display panel reads 50 FUSER ERROR, CYCLE POWER, turn the printer off for 15 minutes. This allows the capacitor that is responsible for signaling this error to discharge. If you don't wait 15 minutes you will continue to get this error even if you have replaced the fuser. If it continues to show the error, then you need to replace the fuser. It is easy to replace.
The fuser maintenance kit is about $119. on the web.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Hello

A 50 Service error is a fuser error. Turn the printer off for at least 10 minutes, then turn it back on. If the error is still there, you can try reseating the fuser, but be sure to let the fuser cool completely before touching it.
If you still have the 50 Service error after reseating the fuser, you might need a new fuser.
You can access the fuser by opening the rear door. It's located directly above the paper tray. There are two screws that hold it in place. Remove those two screws, and the fuser slides outs.
Hope this helps.
