Wiring up a pump with capacitor and pressure switch

Recently I bought a Pentax jet pump for our appartment pressure drop problem. The pump works but as it stops by the pressure switch or manualy, the fuse blows !!
I actualy am not sure if it is wired up curectly with a capacitor and I am using it with a pressure switch but unfortunatly I don't have the instruction manual on how to do the electrical wiring.. any way I connected the fase and null to the wires that are connected to the capacitor as well but still there is a terminal namely SIGNAL. I didn't find instruction diagram anywhere.
Thanks for answers,
Maziar

Any suggestions when a newly installed utilitech pump won't turn off?

its sucking dry or your wiring is not right, or of course an airleak, or the prime is not good, did you fill the pump prime hole at the 3/4 plug on bottom.of pump, deep well pump do you mean submersible? if so and it is a deep well submersible there is a prime, its got to be an airleak in the line or the pressure tank is not pressured up to the specs, and the gauge

The wiring information is in the manual. Are you calling the pressure switch a safety switch?

What is the reason why you hook up the pressure switch to the jet pump..rather than the tank??

Hi,
That is really just for convenience...
They sell it as a package that is ready to install...
I have already removed the pressure switch from the pump installed them in the conventional manner...like a submersible pump...
The problem with that is that there usually is then no make up bax for the wiring, so you will have to rig something there...
You also will have to remove the fitting for the hose going to the switch and plug the hole with a pipe plug...

Other then that it will work just fine...

My pump builds pressure to 60 psi but will not go any hire for the shut off what can be the problem

most jet pumps have a pressure switch to regulate cut in/ cut off pressure. Normally 40/60 psi. The pressure switch should be located at the rear of the pump where the wiring enters. First disconnect the power supply to the pump. Remove the cap where the wiring enters. On the inside of the cap there should be a diagram showing how to alter the cut in/ cut off pressure.

Why is the pump cutting in so much

Check your water pressure tank air pressure, turn off pump, drain off all water pressure and using a air pressure gauge check pressure at the schrader valve on the water pressure tank. It should be 2 lbs below pump cut-in pressure, they come factory charged at 30 PSI...works for most residential systems. Most likely you have a bad bladder in pressure tank.

Other possibles are a broken line between pump and pressure switch/pressure tank or bad pressure switch. If you have a pressure gauge on the water system(should have one near pressure switch) see if it is cycling at the right points if it is the switch is good. If pressure is dropping with NO water uasge in house you have a leak.

Most likely a bad pressure tank bladder is the problem.

My well keeps running i replace the pressure switch and the well starts working properly this happens every 6 months i have replaced the well , jet , and bladder tank why does this keep going on

by keeps running I assume that the presure switch doesn't cut out at the desired pressure and replacing the pressure switch solves the problem probably the contacts in the pressure switch are becoming welded if it worked for years and then this just started then if the pump has a capacitor start ( box inside the house between the pressure switch and the pump wires) you may want to cosider replacing that component and well your poking around verify that the rating of the pressure switch matches your pump requirements amps volts ect..
Good Luck

Installed new pump and tank. Works fine until I do laundry.

There is dirt in your presure switch. Take apart switch clean diaphram and reinstall diaphram upside down. That should do it.
