Recent install, using lp kit, in use it seems like we smell lp gas during use, flame is not right, and seem to jump toward the vent, and around controls. Definitely not right, what should I check? I checked regulator, looks ok according to directions, havent checked orafice sizes yet, but choke is installed on front right burner.

LP gas stove top . burners want turn down to low. Only medium and high flame work on burners.

Has this just recently happened? Check the knobs aren't cracked sometimes the brass spindle inside the knob is not gripping to turn it right down, also check your l p gas pressure it should be 2.75 kpa.
if the flames are big and yellow it's getting too much gas, not enough air.

Bluestar rangetop clicks several times before igniting

Do other appliances in your home using LP gas work properly? If so, then this is probably an air/fuel mix problem on the burner(s). If this is a new rangetop there should be directions with the range and the LP conversion kit to instruct on proper adjustments. Be certain the correct LP orifice was installed for each burner (they likely have different BTU ratings for different sized burners) and the ignitor post is clean and spaced properly to burner. Then adjust the air mix to achieve a blue flame with just a tip of yellow. Delayed ignition usually results from the wrong air/gas mixture which doesn't ignite until too much fuel has accumulated. In many locations the company you purchase LP gas from will have someone who can check and adjust this. If the range was shipped from the factory as LP gas ready, then you can also contact your dealer and request assistance.

GE Range - oven flames too high after regulator replacement and self clean

You need a Gas tech/plumber there urgently!!!!
If the gas jets in your oven had not been changed to accomodate LP gas then the orifice on your existing jets are still to large in diameter. In other words your using Natural Gas jets ( lower pressure jets) for Lp which has a much higher pressure than Nat. gas, this can be extremely dangerous, & could cause major problems.
Again I strongly suggest you contact a Gas tech/Plumber & do not use your oven until it has beeen checked by a professional.Good luck

The flame on my Ikea DATID Hob is huge and has a lot of yellow flame. It makes my pots black, and is difficult to regulate because the flame is so big.

Hi, it really sounds like your cooktop is not set up for your type of gas. More than likely, it is set up for Natural gas and you are using Propane. You need to convert to LP using the kit. The only thing you have to change is the orifices.

How can you tell which fuel a gas cooktop is set up for?

the gas regulator has a round "plug" in the middle of the top and one side is marked nat an one is marked lp you can tell which fuel the regulator is setup for by inspecting this plug. the orifices for the surface burners are marked with thier sizes (.073) for instance which I believe is thousandthsof an inch. also the orifice "spuds" as they are called will often have a drop of colored paint on them to further identify them for installation in the correct burner. checkyour carburation too. if the flame is noisy and trying to shoot up of the burner you could be getting too much air. close the air off a bit till you make a pretty flame two tone blue no yellow.

Gas Hob Flame

Hello
Tha sounds to me like the air mixture nedds to be adjusted on the stove, It's not difficult to do, just rotate it until the flames loose the yellow or your pans will be stained with soot.
The should be by the fittings (convertion fittings), you know?
LP Gas to Natural Gas or Natural Gas to LP Gas.
Hope this help

Gas burner not getting enough gas

It sounds like a bad pressure regulator. Or it may be adjusted for LP gas. I need more information. Sometimes you can adjust it yourself, sometimes you need to buy a kit or new regulator.
