The blender will not turn on, the lights for each selection blink on and off but the blender will not spin.

Remove the bottom cover 1nd unplug the motor from the PCB, check the motor for a circuit with your multi meter. If the circuit is open then remove the motor and locate the thermal fuse attached to one of the field windings under the metal tie and tape for insulation. Test the fuse for a circuit, if it is open then you have 3 options, replace the whole motor, replace the thermal fuse only (it will need to be aftermarket as KA only supply motors complete) or just bypass the faulty fuse.

Blender is spinning but not crushing ice and smoke coming out of bottom

Smoke sounds like the motor is burned out, or possibly just overworked. You could let it rest for 15 minutes and try again, but be careful, as the insulation on the wires could have melted.
Smoke in appliances is usually a bad sign!

Blender overheated

If it won't run once it has cooled down, you have probably cooked the electric motor, which is not worth trying to fix.

If you have some time to poke around, it is vaguely possible that a switch has burnt out, which can be fixed/cleaned. Another longshot is a burnt out fuse, but I doubt it has one.

Motor works but blade not spinning

Check and make sure that the shaft in the base housing spins. If it does, the blade assembly has become disconnected from it's shaft probably due to an improper spot weld or peening of the blades to the shaft, or has torn loose or ripped the splines out due to an immovable object trying to be spun. A jammed ice cube can do this. Blade assemblies can be had usually directly through the manufacturer and usually on line. If this has helped, please rate it accordingly.

Need instructions on how to use.

Go to GE website or any brand and look for user manuals. They have recipes and instructions. And it's all free information! Try these: then select FOOD PREP, then BLENDER, then SEARCH and there will be about 10 user manuals you can browse for instructions and recipes. Instructions for blenders are pretty much the same. Don't put too much in the jar, no more than 3/4 full - I keep mine to 1/2 full. DOn't make recipe too thick or you will stress the motor - add water, milk or other liquid. Don't do ice cubes unless your machine is made for ice crushing. Good luck!
