If there is no code, then it usually indicates a general entry error. this means operation error rather than a setting that is disallowing the entry. To put it simply, you press the wrong button.
This is common if you try to use a decimal point during price entries (e.g $5.80 would be typed as 580).
If you still have trouble, please describe what you are pressing when it happens, and which brand/ model you have
Hi. Sanyo information is very scarce as they are a very small player in the register market now, so I have no details on the 140. However, the standard error E01 usually refers to lack of clerk. This means you must sign a clerk onto the machine. See if you have a clerk or cashier button. Press 1 then clerk.
HI. Error 2 means no clerk code entered. You need to log on to the machine with your clerk (PIN) number, then press the CLERK or CLK# button. Then it will let you make sales.
Hi Skitso,
The problem is listed as afax machine error but the error code quoted seems more to be that of an error on a cash register.
If this is correct and it is a Sharp cash register the error is telling you that you need to enter your clerk or cashier ID.
For ease of reply try pressing the "1" and then the CLERK ID key.
Regards
Gavin.
