Flush handle stays in up position when flushing my Toto MS974224CF(G) Guinevere toilet. My other Toto, same model, works fine. I have tried changing the flush handle and changing the length of the chain to the flapper with no luck

Sorry, didn't read the whole thing. Moving parts do get sticky. Try cleaning, maybe with a soft wire brush if necessary, any of the turning parts involved. And a little WD-40 or migrating fine oil spray by any other name will do. Otherwise, a small bend introduced to one of the arms involved may help. It would be best if you could watch the operation, and if you can slow or speed the water coming in, that might change the performance. See if that helps.

I have a toto toilet that doesn't start to refill until a couple of minutes after I flush. Any ideas. Thanks.

Several ideas. Start to fill? Have you looked inside the tank to see what's going on? If it just filling very slowly, then you most likely have some calcuim build up inside your flush valve blocking some flow, if this is the case you will have to clean the flush valve. If your flush valve is staying up and the toilet is "running" unitil the float drops. The float (either the arm ballcock style, or newer fluidmaster) is rubbing on either the flush lever or side of the tank, and taking longer to drop to let the water start flowing. I

The flap will not stay up to allow the recommended 80 of the water to drain from the tank unless I hold the handle down. I have tried shorting the chain and increasing the water level. Nothing works!!!...

This toilet is a Water Sense toilet and it only uses 1.28 gallons per flush and no more. The tank is never going to completely drain with this low flush toilet. It is designed that way. Make sure the tank is filling to the fill mark inside the tank. If not adjust the fill valve until it does. Federal law says that a toilet can use no more than 1.6 gallons per flush. If you can take this toilet back and get a refund I suggest you do so and buy a Toto toilet. They are the best flushing toilet on the market. Toto toilet will not flush. Arm does not move inside.

You need to hook up the drain mechanism or (flapper chain, if it is hooked up you need to shorten it so when you flush it lifts the flap.

2 Toto Guinevere toilet levers stay up after flush - wastes water

Often the chain or cord in the toilet tank has caught on something. Only lift the tank lid when water has stopped running. When replacing the tank cover, check if vertical water pipe has to sit under the lid just so to catch the vertical discharge, if so designed. Or perhaps the rubber stopper has deteriorated. Good luck

Toto toilet, flapper doesn't stay up long enough to flush

One of two things is the problem. First, make sure that you have a tight chain with little slack. If there's too much slack, the flapper won't catch in the passing air to stay up. Second, the flapper is not correct for that style of toilet. You might want to look into purchasing a new Kolby filter that has a removeable cone in the center. Move that cone to 12 o'clock to allow the maximum amount of water to run through the flush valve. If the flapper you have now is flat, it needs to have a cone in the center on the underside.

Toto toilet ultra max flush

Open the tank and examine the linkages between the handle and the flapper. If the handle is sticking, it sounds like there may be either mineral buildup or a stuck chain.
