Windows thinks that the printer is a camera and I can't install the software bc it keeps getting inturrupted by something

    Nope nothing in there cannot detect printer, or USB Device, tried to do it manually and still nothing, tried to re-install software like 10x wont work, gets "interuppted" and this error happens 1618x17x2671290543x:defaulttricodeerror

    Another possible solutions for those that have the same problems in the future...

    1. Assist the cs with downloading and running the .net verification tool for the .net framework 2.0 version only. This can be found by doing a Google search for .net verification tool and going to the first link. On the first link, instruct the cs to click on updated version of the .NET Framework setup verification tool to download the tool to their desktop.
    *If the tool reports any issues with the .net 2.0 framework, the agent should assist the cs with uninstalling .net 2.0 from Control Panel->Add/Remove programs.
    2. If there are any issues reported with the .net framework verifier, and the .net framework 2.0 has already been uninstalled, then download and run the .net framework cleanup tool. This can be found by performing a Google search for .net framework cleanup tool and going to the first result. The cs can find the link to download this at the top of this website. Download and install the .net framework 2.0 from
    3. Download and install the Windows installer 4.5. This can be found by doing a Google search for Windows installer 4.5 download and going to the first result. Then have the cs download and run the x86 Platform: WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe file from their desktop.
    4. Download and install the latest version of Bonjour 1.0.6. This can be found by going to and downloading the 64 bit version
    5. Disconnect all USB devices from the computer, including the Kodak EasyShare all-in-one printer.

    6. Uninstall the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software:

    a. In the Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs (WINDOWS XP Operating Systems)
    b. Select one of the following software programs from the list of currently installed programs, depending on which one appears in your list:

    Kodak EasyShare software
    KODAK All-in-One Printer Software
    Kodak EasyShare 5000 series all-in-one software
    c. Click Change or Remove (WINDOWS XP OS)
    d. When the Install Wizard appears, click Next.
    e. Depending on the issue(s) you are experiencing, do the following:

    If you are experiencing errors with KODAK EASYSHARE Software, such as a tri-code, in addition to errors with KODAK All-in-One Printer Home Center Software, select Remove, click Next, and follow the on-screen instructions for removing the software.
    If you are not experiencing errors with KODAK EASYSHARE Software, select Modify to uninstall only KODAK All-in-One Printer Home Center Software, then click Next.
    f. In the Custom Setup window, select Remove from the drop-down menu for the Kodak All-in-One Printer, and click Next.
    g. In the Ready to remove the program window, click Next.
    h. In the Uninstall Complete window, click Continue.
    i. Restart the computer.


    If you selected Modify and only uninstalled the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software and did not uninstall the KODAK EASYSHARE Software, continue to Step 4.
    If you selected Remove and uninstalled both the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software and KODAK EASYSHARE Software, continue with Step 3.
    7. Run the Clear Utility to delete any previously installed KODAK All-in-One Printer Software components:

    a. Go to to download the Clear Utility for KODAK HOME CENTER Software.

    b. Select your operating system from the drop-down list and click the Download button to save the file to your desktop.

    Note: If the status indicator on the Clear Utility stops, check the taskbar on your computer for an active security program. If a security program appears in the taskbar, it may be prohibiting the Clear Utility from running. You must allow the Clear Utility to run on your computer before you can continue.

    c. If the Clear utility hangs or does not complete, download and save the desktop in Normal mode. Restart the computer in Safe mode, and run the Clear utility. Safe mode can be accessed by restarting the computer and repeatedly press F8 until they see a menu. This menu will appear before the Windows splash screen.

    d. If the cs is not able to see the arrow to start the Clear utility, press Enter. If this closes the Clear utility, open it again and press Tab once then Enter.

    8. Delete the files and folders that can interfere with the installation.

    For WINDOWS XP OS, delete:

    Printer folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Kodak
    Both the Eastman Kodak Company and KDS_Kodak folders in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data
    Kodak 5000 Series AiO folder in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kodak
    Printer folder in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kodak\EasyShareSetup
    Any Eastman Kodak or Kodak folders located in C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\
    9. Run Disk Cleanup:

    a. Open My Computer.

    b. Right-click Local Disk (C:) and select Properties.

    c. Click the Disk Cleanup button.

    d. When the Disk Cleanup for (C:) window appears, select the Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin, and Temporary Files check boxes.

    e. Click OK, then click Yes to delete all files and begin the Disk Cleanup.

    f. When the Disk Cleanup is finished, click OK in the Local Disk (C:) Properties window.

    g. Delete the registry entry at HKEY local machine->software->Kodak using regedit from the Run command

    10. Shut down all background applications.

    a. Select Start > Run.

    b. Type msconfig in the Open field, and click OK.

    c. Select the Startup tab.
    IMPORTANT: If not all the applications in the Startup Items list are selected, write down which applications are selected so you know which ones to turn on again later.

    d. Click Disable All, then click OK .

    e. When prompted, restart the computer.

    11. After the computer restarts, install the latest version of the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software as a free download from the Kodak Web site at

    If the customer has the 3.1.1 version of the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software on CD, install the software from the CD.
    12. Before restarting the computer again, turn on the background applications.

    a. Select Start > Run.

    b. Type msconfig in the Open field and click OK.

    c. Select the Startup tab.

    d. Under Startup Items:

    - If only some items were originally selected, select the check box in front of the items that you noted in Step 5-c.
    - If all background items were originally selected, click Enable All, and click OK.

    13. Restart the computer.

I would definitely check your margins on the printer and also look at the properties of the photos you are printing bc they may also be set a certain way. Does this happen on every photo you try to print? If that is the case, then it is definitely something with the settings on your printer or the picture itself. It may take a little time but I think this should resolve your problem. The other thing is your camera could also be going bad, i had one that did that so check that last. Also, if you had to install any photo software for the picture/camera you have, then uninstall it and reinstall the software.

Webcam drivers?

Just kidding the third is to the downloads support for Acer.

Check your device manager or manual to find out which camera you have in your 4730.

Missing Photos Canon Rebel XTi

You can actually still keep taking photos with your camera without loosing the images. The XTi will never delete the images off a card unless you press the trashcan key and tell it to "delete all".

It's always good practice in these situations to have a memory card reader handy. You can pick up a compact flash reader for your XTi for about $14 at BestBuy or many other retaillers.

But to answer your question: Use the ZoomBrowser EX software that came with the camera. If your Picasa is set to automatically connect and download every time the camera is connected - temporarily disable it. That way it wont inturrupt Canon's software (which I prefer).

Driver issues

Somewhere during the software install something went wrong. So every time you start the printer it thinks the drivers needs to be reinstalled & it finishes by installing its self again. Open the control panel & uninstall everything that the 3180 has installed on your PC including other perk programs bundled with the printer. Unplug the printer & Re-start the pc when finished.
Go to the link below & download HP's latest software for your 3180.
Follow the manual's instructions to the letter for re-installation.
When you finish the install re-start the Pc. Go back to the HP site above and click the link you see there to: Automatically check to see if the latest driver is installed correctly.

You probably have too many unused devices in your computer, reboot in safe mode, and delete unused device from system devices. Not enough space here for a longwinded howto, but plenty of info on how to do this on the web. gurantee it will fix it
