Simply put , it is probably because the program is too old for windows xp, especially newer service packs of windows xp.

If this machine is running XP, or earlier (98, 2000, ME, etc.), beware. It is no longer supported, and hackers will be looking for these machines to infect. I recommend you back up your data (pictures, documents, etc.) and get a newer machine, or don't try to get on the Internet with this one. If the machine won't boot or let you back it up, and you have important files on it, you could purchase a USB Hard Drive Adaptor, pull out the hard drive, and copy any important files to another machine. That way, at least you may not lose your files. Good luck.

Saving video to your computer

You would normally get a cd with the camera with the driver and any software for transfering and capturing video on, but if you have'nt you can use Windows Movie Maker. Assuming you are on XP, this can be found on strat>all programmes>accesories>windows movie maker. From within this easy to use programme you can import video straight from you camera, you then choose which frames to use by dragging down to the bottom timeline, and then the programme will ask what you wish to do with the movie, be it for e-mailing or web and will compress the file automatically and when you have clicked finish video ask if you wish to email it directly from the programme or save to your pc.

I lost my mercury pi945 gcm sound driver...

1. Download the driver from here by clicking on your relevant operating system ie - Windows XP and save it somewhere easily accessible like the desktop.

2. The file is saved in a .zip format you will need Winzip to open it if you don't already have it. It's a free trial if you download.

3. Double click the saved file and extract to somewhere like the desktop.

4. Once the file is extracted, double click it and navigate to the relevant folder ie - PCI or PCI(E)xpress.

5. Double click Setup.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.

6. Reboot the pc.

Good luck!

Video files don't upload

Windows XP? Are you using windows movie maker (WMM) to import them? I begin by copying the ".mod" files to my computer off the flash card which I insert into my printer. THe software Canon provides is useless. Next I change the file extension to ".MPG". Next open WMM, import video file, but when it starts doing so choose cancel. I don't know why that is. If you let it continue the import it seems to lock up. It will then let you drag and drop that video clip onto a movie.

Hello, instead of saving it as a MovieMaker file, save it as an .avi or a .wmv file. That way, Media player can locate the right codec for this file.
