Go to Ebay and buy a new battery and charger. Be aware that the electronics in the camera may also be at fault. Batteries do not last forever, they have a lifespan of so many charges.

Whenever i open it its sony cyber shot it says for use with compatible battery and turn off and by the way the battery was a new one and i didnt use it alot

Possible that the voltage on the cell is not as specified on the model and so the battery voltage detector thinks that the battery is not the recommended type due to the low voltage/current ratio.
I would suggest that you try with a new set than to suspect the camera.
Make sure the terminals are clean.

Sony cyber-shot DSC-W50 digital camera when cutting on the on button on the camera it says turn the power off and on again.

You can try the following 2 ways: 1. Format and restore the initial value of the camera. 2.First open the battery box cover (notice: do not pull out the battery now), then start the camera, pull out the battery just after the Len has turn out. Install the battery a few seconds later. Now start your camera with the Play button which is next to the viewfinder boot, and then moving the hand wheel to switch to camera mode, after Image appearing the screen, the camera will work properly.

Every time i turn on my sony cyber-shot DSC-N2 now it says "For use with compatible battery only" and then turns off? Never happened before in last 4 years of use? Any suggestions... maybe need a new...

Your camera uses a proprietary Sony InfoLithium battery which I presume you are using. The message normally only comes up when using non-genuine batteries though the chip in genuine batteries sometimes gets corrupted. Four years is a fair lifespan for a rechargeable lithium cell so even without any faults you may already have noticed that the battery needs recharging more frequently.

Check that the battery contacts are bright and clean, and use a torch to look inside the battery chamber to check that the camera contacts are intact and clean. If all checks out then borrow or buy a replacement battery. If you buy a battery then you'll have to try and resell it if the camera proves to be at fault.

If the ultimate conclusion is that the camera is faulty, then it's cheaper to just replace it rather than repair. It was only designed for a minimum five year lifespan, so if it's failed prematurely you've been a bit unlucky. It's worth complaining to Sony anyway, but as they'll want to inspect the camera and will charge you for shipping with no guarantee of a favourable outcome you may decide that you'll just be gambling more money which could go towards a replacement camera.

My sony cyber shot turns off after it says for use for compatible

Seems battery got bad and camera does not recognize it.
Take out battery, put it on charger and charge it, put back battery in camera and check.
If problem still exist, use new battery.
Thanks.

Screen will say: for use with compatible battery only

How old is the battery? Rechargeable batteries are only meant to last a couple years at most. If the battery is older than that, consider replacement. Amazon usually is a good source for good generic replacements at reasonable cost.

Battery not compatible

it is possible you are using the wrong batteries or instaling them wrong.
theses cameras require better batteries and you may have to pay extra for the ones that will work .
try a different brand.
