Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Already bought a Frigidaire Gallery Dryer about 2 years ago.

Dryer will sometimes heat but will not tumble. What could this be (this is for a neighbor across the street). Okay, just found out the belt snapped, but does that also control the heat as well?

Dryer is a Fridgidaire Home Gallery...and the dryer tumbles, and heats in beginning of cycle but the heat will not continue to heat...tumbles normally. The vents have recently been cleaned.

if it's gas you have bad gas coils,if not blow out the vent line with a leaf blower if it's long from the back of dryer to the outside vent, also make sure the outside vent isn't blocked, then remove the lint filter and then remove the duct that it slides into and clean that out,let me know what you find, this came in under a frigerator,ha kinda messed me up

My frigidaire gallery dryer stopped tumbling. My husband has it to where it will tumble.. until we put clothes in it.

Either the drum bearings are in bad condition (front outer edge and center rear of the drum), the belt is in poor condition from the heat, or the belt tension device (a tension spring or idler pulley bearing) is not working correctly. This can be accessed from the lower rear. If the belt is bad, the front panel must be removed to allow the belt to pass over the drum.
