Question about NorStar T7316E Corded Phone

Changing MAIN voicemail announcement

We do not have a manual for our Nortel T7316E phone system, and we're trying to change the MAIN announcement a caller hears when calling into our system. This was originally set by the phone installer.

Could you please tell us how to access this - all we can locate is how to change our own individual voicemail messages.

Thanks,
Sue

I am not a phone installer and we have another vendors' phone system here at our work.

It can be *extremely* difficult setting up these phone systems, even with a manual.

Here is one such link that might help:

http://www.alphatelecom.ca/meridian_norstar_manuals.htm

Here is another forum that has lots of friendly folks that might be able to help

http://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/ultimatebb.php?/ubb/forum/f/8.html

You will get an answer much sooner on there than here probably.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

WHEN I PRESS 1 TO LEAVE A MESSAGE IN MY VOICEMAIL BOX THE MESSAGE REPEATS

The number to repeat a voicemail is 1, you must first go back to the main menu and click 1, make sure you are at the main menu first. Also, if not, I believe the button is 2 on some phones, try both.

Voicemail and password

I would unplug power to the voicemail, then restore. Wait 10 minutes and then do the same to the phone system.

What you are trying to do is reinitialize the voiecmail, if you dont know what you are doing you will do more harm than good.

Nortel T7316E Voicemail

It sounds like both phones are set to ring on incoming calls and both phones are set to call forward to voice mail box with the same amount of rings . you should turn off the ringing for both phones that way it will not jump between the to mail boxes . now when a call is trans it will go to the box .
