SOURCE: how to use NumSolve on the Casio Classpad 330

Sorry the solution was posted as a clarification request. Here it is at the right place.

Hi,

  1. Turn calculator ON.
  2. Look for the NumSolve icon.
  3. Tap the icon.
  4. The equation editor screen opens with the word Equation: on one line and a small rectangle on the next one.
  5. At the position of the rectangle, type in the equation.
  6. Do not forget the right hand side.
  7. Press [EXE].
All the non-numerical variables, parameters are then listed with a radio button next to each one of them.

  • Tap the radio button next to a variable and enter a value for a parameter.
  • Repeat for all known values.
  • Last, enter a guess for the unknown you are solving for and
  • set the bounds between which you suspect the solution to be.
  • While the radio button for the unknown is still checked, tap the Solve Menu at the top of the screen,
  • select Execute submenu and
  • press [EXE].
  • Alternatively you can tap the Solve at the left of the toolbar.(see picture).
If all goes well and the solution is found (this dependent of how good your guess is), the calculator returns with the value of the unknown and displays the difference
Left side-Right side = 0 or a very small number.

If the solution cannot be found you will be prompted to change the initial value (your guess) and/or the bounds. Hope it helps.

SOURCE: how do i enter degrees minutes seconds on classpad

This is valid for the ClassPad 300Plus (OS version 2.2) but it should work for the ClassPad 330 OS version 3.x

In the MAIN menu screen press the Action menu, then Transformation sub menu. At the bottom of the drop down list you have dms an toDMS.
If you enter toDMS(18.58) you get dms(18,34,48). Then if you use dms( on the calculated result: dms(ans) you get 18.58
So if you have a result in deg, min, sec you convert it to decimal degrees by making use of the dms( command.

SOURCE: Hi, I have a Casio

Yes, the touch screen is bad and will have to be replaced. This is a very common problem on these new touch screen devices. You should be able to take the unit to a local cell phone repair shop and have the screen replaces for around $80-$100.

You do not need any driver for the ClassPad 330. You connect it through the USB port. If it came with the ClassPad manager 32 bits application, just install it. Windows 64 bits system have a 32 bits subsystem to run 32 bit applications.

Casio Classpad 330 batteries run out very easily.

This may or may not solve your problem but it might alleviate it. The calculator has a power saving mode which you can configure as follows.
Turn ClassPad ON
Tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll down until you see the System Icon
4_25_2012_10_00_05_pm.png
Tap the system icon. After a few moments the calculator comes back and displays the system configuration screen.
At the top of the system configuration screen tap the battery icon (look for a + - sign).
This opens the power saving properties.
The power Save Mode will turn power saving mode automatically, after a day, one week or one month. It can also turn the power Save Mode OFF.

The other configurable setting is the auto Power OFF. It turns the calculator OFF after 1 min, 3 min, 6 min or 60 minutes.

.
Note: another possibility is the use of rechargeable NiMH batteries. Be aware that some manufacturers discourage strongly the use of rechargeable batteries.

Hope it helps

Can you update a classpad 300 to a 330 operating system

It depends. If the ClassPad has OS 1.x you can upgrade it to 2.x freely. However you need to buy (separately) the ClassPad manager 3.x to be able to upgrade the OS to version 3.x. After that further upgrades appear to be free.
