About 1/3 of the way over, one vertical line of text in my resume seems to be bolded going down through the entire document. The rest looks fine, any ideas?

Sounds like a smudge on the encoder strip. The clear plastic behind the carriage assembly. if you hold the paper at the paper path the encoder strip will have the smudge in the same area as on the paper. you can clean it with a damp Q-tip...gently though
