You will have to use process of elimination. I suggest you connect some other router to the cable and see how it behaves. Another thing to check would be to carry this indoors and connect with another known short good cable to a switch or router. If it behaves the same it is very likely that the socket on your outdoor router is internally shorted.

I can't get online to google or anything because the laptop will not come out of the offline.

If you are on a wireless network with a router, power cycle all your equipment to get it back in sync with each other.

1. Turn off the power to your router( 1st) , your modem (2nd) and pc (3rd). in this order. Wait a few min.

2. Take out the ethernet cable from the router (until your modem reacquires a signal to the internet) and if the pc is connected to the router unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of the pc.

3. Turn on the power to your router wait for all the lights to come back up. Then turn on your modem and wait for all the lights to come back up and reacquire a signal. Once all the lights are on the modem, plug the ethernet cable back into the Internet jack of your router.

4. Turn on your laptop. After Windows loads and you get to your desktop, plug the Ethernet cable in to the back of the pc( if you connect wired) or try to connect to your wireless network.

5. Then open your browser and type in this web address:

http://www.purple.com

if a purple page comes up-You are connected to the Internet.

I followed all instructions and make all the right connections to my EnGenius M5000 AP to switch. The Internet Modem (from VSAT) is also connected to the switch including my Desktop standalone...

What IP is your Internet Modem using? If they use the same IP you'll have problems.

Your PC is connected wirelessly or directly via ethernet cable?

If you hare directly connected and you have your router set to enable DHCP, you should get an IP address. I assume you are familiar with networking enough since you know how to open command prompt and ping your router. Make sure that you get an ip (ipconfig). If not, make sure your cable is good and connected solidly and ensure DHCP is enabled on your router. If you are using static, just make sure the IP you assign to your desktop is in the same subnet. If you have a 255.255.255.0 subnet you can have 254 hosts on your network and they all have to be 192.168.1.X where X will change.

I cant configure the EOC 1650 using windows 7

To start set the IP in your computer to 192.168.1.21, Subnet: 255.255.255.0 don't worry about the Gateway or DNS.

Connect one end of a network cable to the network port on the bottom of the Engenius.

Connect the other end of the cable to the POE port on the power inserter.

Plug in the 24Vdc cable and power supply.

Connect another network cable to the LAN side of the power inserter and the LAN port of your computer.

Now we can try to ping the Engenius.(This is a test to see if the computer and the Engenius are able to communicate)

Go to Start on your computer.
In "Search" Type in: cmd
Click on the "cmd.exe" program.
A black box will pop up.
Type in: ping(space)192.168.1.1
You should see: Reply from 192.168.1.1: bytes:32 time:1ms ttl:52
This means you're connected to, and can communicate with the Engenius.
Your sending a request to the Engenius and It's sending a reply back.

Now open Internet Explorer.

Type in: 192.168.1.1 in the address bar at the top of the screen.(don't worry about HTTP or any of that, it's not needed)

A box will pop up asking for a username and password.

Type in admin for both and hit enter.

make sure, Windows Firewall is disable on your machine....

We just purchased a new computer and everything works fine but there is a short blue wire (4 feet long) attached to my router and I do not know where it should go. I do not remember if it was ever...

One end should go in your router(on one of the ports) and the other, your computer (It should fit perfectly in the ports and you should here a click), only use this if you want an Ethernet (Wired Internet) connection. If you want a Wireless connection, do not use this cable.

Ps3 was fine on line this morning but tonight in will not go on line and says error 80130182 i am using a ethernet cable to try and connect can you help ?

Hello, this error means you basically can't get connected to Internet. It's due probably to an IP conflict on your local LAN. Try to do the following: - switch your PS3 off - switch any device connected to your local LAN (laptops, desktops, iphones, etc..) - unplug power cable from your modem/router - unplug ethernet cable from both PS3 and modem/router - wait 1 minute, plug everything right back - switch your PS3 on and see if this error has gone.
Good luck, Peter_Rei

Wired connection randomly drops

Since the wireless works fine on your router, then it is possible that there is a problem either on your ethernet cable or on the port of the belkin router.
Try a different ethernet cable. (Ethernet cable is the one that is connected from your computer to the router.) If you don't have a spare cable, you can directly connect the computer to the modem, just to isolate the issue and determine if it is the cable or the computer itself.
If you have determined that the cable is working fine, then try a different port on the router.
I hope this helps!

Please clarify what you mean by ''Connect with an ethernet cable''

Ethernet cable means CAT5 or UTP for others or LAN cable. The connection should be LAN port of your computer to LAN1 of your router.

And you can connect also the internet cable usually ethernet cable from your internet provider directly to (ethernet cable)WAN port of your router to get signal from your internet provider.

Also if you get this message, this could also means you still don't set up or configure the router's settings to communicate when your LAN and router. They must see each other to access the router's utility webpage.

Motorola Surfboard 4220 not working with my Netgear WGT624 router

Make sure that you have the ethernet cord from your modem plugged into the WAN/Internet port on your router. Then unplug the power cord from your cable modem and plug it right back in. After the modem fully comes back online, unplug the power cord on the wireless router and plug it back in. wait 30 - 60 sec and then try and connect.

Most cable companies only allow one active"CPE" at a time for internet access. All this means is when you change what is connected to the cable modem you must always reboot the cable modem to allow access.

Hope this helps. Let me know if it does not work.
