Question about HP Color LaserJet 2600n Printer

1 Answer

Yellow malfunction The yellow cartridge is leaking and basically unsaveable however it is very expensive to replace. Is there any way that I can still print without a yellow cartridge installed, I mostly print in black and white and I don't want it to leak all over every page. Thanks

I'm afraid not. The printer expects all three cartridges to be present. If a cartridge leaks, you might be able to return it for an exchange if it's relatively new. Cartridges shouldn't leak at all.

I've got a J125 brother printer and i have a problem printing the yellow color since it has four cartridges, Black, cyan, yellow, magenta. i just purchased a yellow cartridge and i tried the "cleaning"...

It is a new cartridge and you have cone all you can do. You have a bad print head. Sorry. Replaceable item but expensive to the point where often it is better to just get a new printer rather than replace that part.

The message reads that there is a printer head problem with my black/yellow, does this mean I just need to replace it or something else on my officejet pro L7580 Thank you Becky

This means that you have a defective printhead. Kind of costly. You might try making sure your individual color cartridges are good. Sometimes, the yellow single cartridge can leak out prematurely and give you these error. Look for the black or yellow cartridge to have a leak of color on the outside. If so...replace that one. Sounds like either the black or yellow is bad though. If not...then one of your master print heads (separate from your individual ones) is defective.

Colors are not printing the acutal color

It all depends on the meaning of 'not properly'.

Try creating a document with four different squares, or words, of these colours: yellow, magenta, cyan and black. If all of them print (albeit not with the correct shades) it is probably an ICM driver error. But my guess is that only one of those four colors will print badly, due to a defective color cartridge.
The OKI 5150 makes all perceivable colours using cyan, magenta, yellow and black toners, so if one of these malfunctions, the resulting colors will lack the required shade of, say, yellow, and will appear to be "wrong". The yellow colour itself, of course, would simply disappear (the "yellow" you use might actually be 95% yellow and 5% cyan; then the "yellow" square will be printed as a very light shade of cyan, while the other colors - say, 95% magenta and 5% yellow - will turn out almost exact).

Try with the color test and replace any failing cartridge; if all four (almost) pure colours do print incorrectly, it's unlikely to be a cartridge problem, and we'll have to dig deeper.

I have a used C60. I have replaced both ink cartridges with Epson cartridges. When printing in color, the colors are not accurate. For example, red comes out yellow. Also, there are lines running through...

Hi there. The reason for your problem is that the colour cartridge contains cyan, magenta and yellow ink, plus a black cartridge of course. All the other myriad colours are produced by mixing these four basic colours. So, if you print red, it requires ink from both the magenta and yellow cartridges. Thus if your red produces a yellow print, it means your magenta is not printing. This can be due to a number of reasons, mainly an empty or faulty magenta cartridge or blocked magenta print nozzles.

If you wish me to help you with sorting out the lack of magenta, please post a new comment to this effect.
