My frigidaire front loading washer is doing the same thing. It's very frustrating, because I can't get the spots out.

Brown spots indicates a bearing is breaking up, the spots are the grease from the bearing and as the seal breaks down due to the bearings going off centre, the grease gets in the drum.
Get the bearings replaced if affordable.
