Question about SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Frozen on the startup screen

My Sansa player starts and then goes to the opening screen and just runs through the animation sequence, but never goes beyond that, it just keeps cycling through. Additionally, when I connect it to my computer to charge it, the battery will charge but the computer does not recognize that it's connected and accessing files or uploading new ones is impossible.

Previously, I'd had problems with the files--it would say that almost all of the file space was taken up, yet I'd removed all of my files from the player, so it should've had a ton of free space.

I already tried resetting it (several times), physically removing the battery, and attempted to update the firmware and reinstall everything (but as the computer does not see it there, it's difficult!) Any suggestions...??

This should take care of it.

You can follow these steps to erase and start anew.

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://rapidshare.com/files/67740173/e200fw01.00.12.exe____

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Frozen on the loading screen

press the menu button on the bottommostlft side,,,and also anyone of the other buttons (say forward button) for quite sometime around 2 minutes (probably less than that)............

then the blue light would be turned off and sansa starts rocking again..

HOLD MENU AND FORWARD BUTTONS TOGETHER....

or as you thought u can let the sansa discharge all its power.

dont open at any cost ,because if its found opened then warranty may be cancelled.

Try doing a hard reset on a Sansa m250:
  1. Turn off the Sansa. Just pull the battery out for a second and then reinstalling the battery without pushing any further buttons.
  2. Plug the Sansa into a computer4.gif, and open "My Documents" in the computer.
  3. Open the Sansa file as if it were a drive, then go to the "MUSIC4.gif Specific storage" file.
  4. Right click the "MUSIC Specific storage" file, and press "Format."
This should hard reset the Sansa m250. This solution has worked for me.
I do not know if this will work on other Sansa m200 type .mp3 players.

Sansa m250 freeses on power up

throw it against the wall because sandisk is aware of this problem and does nothing about it... they should replace them for free but they don't... race condition in that firmware screws the player up...
