SOURCE: lawnmower stalls out

Hello:

>>The Following is a Basic Instruction File I made for this. Any Input is Appreciated. I Usually Suggest you Check the Following in this Order for a Problem like yours. 1- Check the Gas Tank Cap and Ensure it is Venting the Tank. A Vacuum Builds in the Tank and the Gas Flow Stops or Slows (15 to 45 Minutes and if the Small Grainular Sand is in the Tank it can Take Several Days of Constant Running to Bring All the Sand Particales to the Tank Outlet Port) to a Point it Shuts Off the Engine. 2- Operate the Equipment Until it Quits (15min to 1hr). Then Immediately Check for Fire from the Plug. If the Plug is Firing, then 3- Check the Carburetor Solenoid. If the Carburetor Shut Off Solenoid has Current, then Remove the Carburetor Solenoid and Go to the Hardware Store. Purchase a Bolt of the Same Diameter and Threads. It Needs to be 3/4" Long. Put this Bolt in Place of the Solenoid. If this Corrects the Engine Problem, then Replace the Solenoid. ***NOTE: THIS IS FOR CHECKING THE SOLENOID ONLY I NEVER SUGGEST YOU OPERATE THE ENGINE WITH THE SOLENOID OUT OF THE CARBURETOR EXCEPT FOR TESTING PURPOSES*** Sometimes the Plunger is Moving, Just Not Far Enough to Allow the Gas to Enter the Jets. 4- Depending on the Model Mower, it can Also be the Pickup Tube in the Gas Tank. If No Fire, then Remove the Shut Off Wire from the Coil and Check for Fire. If Still No Fire, then the Ign Module or Coil is Bad. **Even if the Coil is New of Fairly New, it can Still be Bad.** On JD Mowers; Remove the Igniter/Module and the Coil and have the Local JD Dealer Test them.
Please, Do Not Hesitate, If I Missed Something or you Hit a Snag or this Does Not Correct the Problem, I am Here if You Require More Assistance.
Hope this Helps. Let me Know What Happens, Please. May the All Mighty Bless You and Yours. Be Safe and Be Happy. Thanks.

Good Luck

Respectfully

SOURCE: taking off the mower blades on a husqvarna z4824

Sometimes the blade bolts are tight from the factory.Try and lift the front of the mower to get under the deck if you don't want to take the deck off. If you don't have an impact gun use a small piece of 2x4to wedge between the blade and the edge of the mower housing to stop the blade from turning while you use a 5/8 socket on a 1/2 inch breaker bar or large ratchet, be careful you don't slip and cut yourself on the blades, wear gloves and when reinstalling blades be sure to align the star hole in blade with the star on the blade mandrel

SOURCE: Husqvarna Mdl YTH2448 Riding Mower - Electric PTO Not Working

It sounds like your charge system is not working. If you jump the battery the engine will run with a weak battery but the pto clutch needs a strong battery to stay engaged.Try this to test it,after you jump it leav the jumper cables hooked up and try to engage the blade clutch,if it runs it is either a battery that wont take a charge or a charge system not working. If you put a volt meter on the battery while the engine is running and the voltage is 13 volts the charge system is working and the battery is bad.

SOURCE: Riding mower stalls when PTO is engaged.

check the kill switch and the wire it could be that a small piece of the covering came off and is grounding to the deck or frame there by killing the engine the jerkink of the mower maybe whats causing the wire to come into contact with metal..good luck

Husqvarna Z4824 Zero Turn Mower. How do I replace a ignition switch on it please?

If you can't release the switch from the panel you may need to remove the four mounting screws along the edge of the panel. See attached.

I have a Husqvarna RZ4623 zero turn mower. Was mowing the yard and the blades just stopped. I hear no clicking when I engage the PTO switch.

Also check fuses, they are located on the left hand side of the
Machine. They are accessed by tilting the seat
Forward. They are ?at pin Fuses of the same type used
in automobiles.
There are two fuses with ratings and functions:
20 amp Primary Fuse
7.5 amp mower deck coupling

I have a husqvarna 4623 zero turn and when I would pull up the pto the mower would die. I replaced the fuel filter and now it won't even stay running

Most likely the battery isn't holding enough charge which is why the PTO won't engage.
Likely you have air in the fuel line/fuel filter which lets it run for awhile then it fuel starves.

MY CRAFTSMAN DYT4000 RUNS GOOD WHEN THE PTO IS INGAGED WHEN GOING FOWARD WORKS LIKE A CHAMP, BUT WHEN PUT IN REVERCE THE ENGINE WILL DIE, UNLESS I DISINGAGE THE PTO PLEASE HELP ,, GOT THE MOWER USED...

It sounds like your mower is equipped with a reverse safety switch. This switch will prevent you from mowing in reverse by killing the engine, like any safety switch. You just need to investigate it and decide if you will disengage the blades to back up or if you will disable the safety switch. You mentioned that there were wires cut. Do you know what they were? How many were cut? I suggest that you trace them out to see what they are, where they go. The previous owner may not have wanted to deal with the safeties for a number of reasons.

In regards to the reverse safety switch, many mowers do not have them. As in they do not come on all mowers, historically. I do not know if they are designed into all the newer ones or not. I work on older mowers and whether or not they are on a mower seams to depend on the manufacturer (on older mowers). My seven or eight year old Craftsman does not have one, while a twelve year old MTD may.

I hope this is helpful for you.
