You have a poor signal to the spark plug usually caused by a rusty fly wheel found underneath the pullcord casing. clean it with releasing ajent such as wd 40. common when not in use for a while.

SOURCE: wont start

tip a cap full of fuel in top of the carb to start intitially, check for spark as common fault is on/off switch, If no spark, link the 2 wires on on/off switch together.

Sounds like the unloader is not working correctly. Try replacing it and see what happens.

NEVER start an engine on a power washer with pump attached. You will damage pump and get no or very little pressure. Replacing pump only fix. Pump for this washer about $49. Check spring on carb for throttle open/close

How to recoil the spring on a pull start cord for a craftsman pressure washer model # 580 750 400

If no repair manual. It could be spring is broken. So I'd look for spring, and instructions to install spring. That should give you a good idea. I suppose the handle came off and lost the rope inside? Probably need new rope too. Same kind of instructions would apply in how to recoil if it's not broken.

I cant start my power washer. the pull start is locked and wont release to start engine.

When the pull start gets locked, you have to release water pressure from the wand. I had the same problem last year.

I have a craftsman 6.5 Horsepower Briggs & Stratton mower and it once was really easy to pull start now it is really hard to pull. What could be the problem?

If this in an OHV engine, check the valve clearances and if very much over .004, adjust down to that value. If that does not correct it, I would ask you if you have hit anything with the blades lately, or in another way, could you have sheared or partially sheared the flywheel key? When you try to pull start, does it try to pull the cord from your hand?

I hope this is going to get you mowing again.

I bought a new craftsman pressure washer 2700psi. Put oil and gas in it. Cranked on the first try. It worked for about 15 minutes and then cut off. Now the pull start is very hard to pull and will not...

Hello
Take out the spark plug and try pulling,if it is still hard then then there is a problem with the pull start mechanism.
Check the plug for oil fouling or fresh oil.If there is excessive oil you may have bad rings.

If in doubt, craftsman will honor the 1 year warranty no questions asked, for a new unit.

if there is a fuel filter running completely out of fuel sometimes allows all of the bad stuff in the fuel tank to plug the fuel filter (if it has one). press the primer bulb until you can hear fuel, then it should start.

New Troy-Bilt 3000 psi - Very Hard to Hot Start

When you run the unit and shut if off, release the pressure from the spray wand before trying to restart the engine. This built up pressure will cause it to be very hard to start as you have found out. If it does not start on the second pull release the pressure again. Another option is do do what I did on mine. I simply put a pull tie on the handle so I can pull the trigger back and use the pull tie to hold the trigger open. Make sure if you do this, that you remove the high pressure orifice from the end of the wand before attempting to start the engine. Otherwise the pressure will come on abruptly and could injure you or do property damage.

Spray well with WD-40 or similar, and take a small chisel, on it's edge, and hit hard enough to allow chisel to dig in to head of screw, making a "V" like slot in the head, then angle chisel slightly and start tapping in direction of loosening(counter clockwise.) Once it loosens enough to get a pair of visegrips attached to head, use them, and spin them out. Make sure you replace them with new screws.
