What cycle is it set on? have you also selected the soak option? How long does it agitate for before stopping? Does the control panel shut down? is there any readout on the panel? Will it drain and spin when you cancel the cycle?

SOURCE: washer will fill up with water and drain but will not spin or aggitate. the model is kitchenaid kawe677bwh1

Rick, for the posted model. This is a direct drive washer, no belt. As long as you are draining, I believe you have a broken motor coupler, about a 19.00 part. Check out the attachment, look at # 13. One end to the motor, the other to the trans. You will have to remove the cabinet, pump and motor to get at it. Easy job. Catriver.

SOURCE: Washer fills and drains but won't aggitate or spin

Since the washer is less than an year old it must be under a warranty.Try contacting the customer care and get it replaced.

Generally for such a problem,the following checks need to be done.
* Test the lid switch
* Test the timer control
* Test the centrifugal switch
* Test the water level switch
* Inspect the motor coupler
* Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
* Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
* Test the motor
* Inspect the pulley
* Test the transmission

In your case I would advice to get your machine replaced with a new one.Good luck,Please do rate the solution if accepted.

SOURCE: my washer overflows. it wont stop putting water

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (110.########) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

(The 110 means that it was manufactured by Whirlpool, you also need to enter the 8 digit model number)

Also see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for these washers.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

It has testing procedures as well as a good description of how the washer works.

It sounds like a defective water level switch or water inlet valve.

See the following for how to release the console and cabinet on these machines in order to get to the switch for testing.

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131

Basically, what happens is:

When the washer is turned on, the water inlet switch is closed allowing water to flow thru the inlet valve. When it senses that the machine is to the level selected by the water level dial, the switch opens shutting the inlet valves.

If the switch or valve is defective, water will continue to enter the machine.

The Whirlpool Service Manual has testing procedures (basis continuity tests with a multimeter) for both the switch and valve.

Kenmore won't fill with water

Make sure your water valves are turned on. Check for blockages in the rubber hose and especially where the water enters the washer. Sometimes the chack valve of a washer can collase and restrict the flow of water entering the washer. It is usually located just beyond where the hose connects to the washer. Metal screens can clog and stop water flow. Check and replace as necessary.

The electronics of the washer may also not be advancing to the point where it allows water to enter, The main dial may be faulty. Check and verify all washer settings also

I have a GE toploader washer. The model # is WBSR1060T (VVSRV1040V, & YVSR1040V were also on the washer too) the washer keeps filling to the max setting no mater what the water level is set on, also...

Remove the front panel of the washer by using a putty knife to release the retaining clips, located in the seam between the front panel and the washer's top, about 2 inches in from each side. With an empty wash tub, remove the small hose on the left side of the outer tub and clean out the inside of the hose. Replace the hose. Test.

Your machine may have a coupling that has failed, this is a rubber and plastic coupling, designed to reduce noise. They fail and the machine will barely work... This is not a hard replacement. Open the machine and look near the motor.

Top loading washer that won't aggitate, or rinse.

without knowing more details, and considering it's age , my guess is that you have a disconnection (or a loose wire) to the solenoids under the tub. these solenoids activate the clutch system that pulls it into agitate and spin modes. it might be the solenoids, but rarely do both go out at the same time. it might be the timer contacts or connections behind the control panel. or, it might be the timer its self.
try unplugging the unit and check all the connections.
hope this helps jay

Water fills the tub then nothing happens.

it does not aggitate? Thats the cycle that allows the water to wash the clothes. It may be broken, I have had that happen a couple times. I would take the aggitator off and see if the teeth in the groves are worn out, It happen's when used alot. Commen problem and easy to replace.
