Stone is approximated at about 2700 lbs. per cu. yd.

An acre is 43560 sq. ft.

8.5 acres is 370260 sq. ft.

There 9 sq.ft. per sq. yd., thus there are 41140 sq. yds. in 8.5 acres.

A cubic yard is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet (LxWxH).

Since you are only going to be at 1.5 feet, each square yard is equal to 1/2 cubic yard, so to figure the cubic yards divide sq.yds. by 2, thus you get 20570 cu. yds. of stone.

20570 x 2700 = 55539000 pounds. Divide by 2000 to get tons:

55539000/2000 = 27769.5 tons.

84.50 what? Meters? Centimeters? Millimeters?

On the calculator there are conversions of capacity (gallons (US or UK) to liters, liters to gallons (Us), gallons(UK) but there are no conversions from ft^3 to m^3. However you have the basic conversions from in to cm, cm to in, yd to m and m to yd. That is all you need.

To use the calculator to perform a conversion from ft to meters, you enter the number of feet, you press [SHIFT][8] (Conv).

The calculator prompts you to enter a number between 01 and 40. Each number corresponds to a particular conversion. In this case you enter 03

For example convert 3 ft to meters.

Enter 3

Press [SHIFT][8] (Conv)

Prompt: CONVERSION Number 01--40

You enter 03 (ft to m) and press [=]

Calculator displays 3 ft >m, and on the second line 0.9144

Thus**3 ft=0.9144 m**

Once you know how to convert one unit of length to another, you get the volume by raising conversion to the 3rd power.

For this to work, you must convert all dimensions to the same unit.

Ha ha ha... this is for your High School class? V = 6000 gal * (1 ft^3 / 7.481 gal) = 802 ft^3..... h = 5.5 yd * (3 ft / 1 yd) = 16.5 ft..... Assuming a cylinder, V = pi * r^2 * h... r = (V / pi h)^0.5 = 15.5 ft * (1 yd / 3 ft) = 5.16 yd

A yard is 1 dimensional so just a straight line.

A cubic yard is 3 dimensional so imagine a box with all sides being 1 yard long, the volume of this box is a cubic yard.

I'm sorry to tell you but it's actually wrong..

this should be how it drawn..to solved this two volume is needed..the outside and inside volume..

V(outside)=80(40)(12)

V(outside)=38 400 cub. ft.

V(inside)=(80-2-2)(40-2-2)(1...

V(inside)=32832 cub. ft.

V(total)=V(outside)-V(inside)...

V(total)=5568 cub. ft

convert to**cub.** yard=206.22 cub yd.

Here is the Solution:

1.__Convert 15 ft into yards.__ 1 yard = 3 feet

=>**15 ft = 5 yd**

2.__Find the area of the given room.__ The cost for given room is given, and cost for carpeting 1 sq. yd is given. So,

800/20 = 40 {i.e.**40 sq. yd (area of the given room**)}

3. Now,__Length * Width = Area__

=>** x * 5 = 40 ** [Taking Length = x yd]

=> x = 40/5

=>**x = 8 yd**

=> x = 8 * 3 ft

=>** x = 24 ft**

**So, Length of the given room is 24 ft (8yd).**

I*hope* this solved your problem (in time).
