my acer aspire one has suddenly lost its wireless connection the light is on on the front but there is no icon on the bottom right hand side and when you go to settings and click on network connections nothing happens
Go to the Device Manager and check Wireless Network Adapter properties. Is the Wireless adapter installed, working properly and enabled? If not then reinstall the wireless LAN driver.
If it is OK then go to the Control Panel and click on Network Connections and right click on the wireless connection anf then click on Repair. This will make the wireless router issue a new IP address to the wireless LAN card and you whould now get access to the Internet & your network.
If this doesn't work power down your wireless router wait 1/2 minute, power up and boot up your laptop after all the normal LEDs on the wireless are on.
Let me know if you still have problems plus all error messages.

There is a horizontal gray bar that splits the screen about 2 inches from the bottom. I have restored factory settings. No change. Have re-installed Intel Video driver - bar is still there. Also, the right side of the screen is cut off. Have to use mouse to scroll around, like a virtual screen. Have tried display settings as well. 1024x600 not an option. There have been several times when re-installing the video driver from the Acer eRecovery application has worked. But once I reboot, it is back to the bar.... Have downloaded drivers from other sources (v1585 for Intel) and have had no luck.
