Century Hobby Mig won't weld

I've got a small 90A Century mig welder that's been sitting for 5 years. Purchased new tank and tried welding the other day but the welder will not strike an arc. No idea what could be wrong... Maybe wire oxidized or some other electrical issue?

My welder no longer produces high quality welds

You could have a poor ground clamp connection. Check that. also increasing the gas flow will cause turbulence at the weld, this can have a negative effect on weld quality.
Check your connections, check your liner, actually, replace it if you haven't recently.

Century mig welder. The wire speed is spinning at max speed as soon as the machine is turned ON. Will only stop when machine is OFF.

My Century 225 mig has lost its power ...with adjustments to max it leaves a high weld deposit and low penertration.

What is the fix ?

My mig welder does not seem to weld like it used to. it seems like the argon is not working, like im trying to weld with the tank closed. I checked the tip and argon seems to come out when i hit the...

You may need a new argon regulator for your tank. I had similar problem with mine and purchased a new regulator for about $69 and solved the issue. Also your lead from welder to gun may need to be replaced. Purchased mine at cyberweld.com

Mig problem

For certain type of work TIG is required, like welding chrome moly for some racing organizations. Intricate work, like gunsmithing is also well suited to TIG. TIG is used by many auto restorers who prefer a more precise, perfect finish that requires little to no finish work. TIG is most similar to gas welding in technique, so if you've done oxy-fuel welding, TIG should be a natural transition. MIG is required by law and by insurance companies in many localities for structural repair of automotive frames. MIG is also much easier to learn and faster to weld. For doing other types of welding, like sheet metal, it can be a matter of personal preference. For an auto body repair shop or a novice welder, a MIG is a good, practical all-around welder.
