Question about Weber Q Grill

KEEPING GRILL LIT

I have a 5 burner charm glow grill. I use it quite often and went through and changed the burners. I can light any three and be fine, the moment I light the fourth all go down to very little flame and heat is non-existent.

There is a safety device that shuts the gas off or nearly off if there is insufficient back pressure, such as can be caused by a leak. Check to insure that all of your new burners are properly seated.

Two burners light normally (doesn't matter which two) but when you light the third burner, all shut way back and sometimes even go out. The grill begins to drop temperature as soon as the third...

Your grill is using more gas than is being supplied.
If the grill has been in service and worked and no changes have been made, there may be a blockage in the piping BEFORE THE FIRST BURNER.

How do I light the grill manually

Get a butane grill lighter. Open the hood of your grill. Remove the cooking grates and one by one turn the burner to low. Light the butane grill lighter prior to turning the burner on and as you turn the burner to low touch the flame of the lighter to the burner. Leave all burners on low, until you replace the cooking grates. Be very very careful, as you don't want gas to buildup before each burner is lit.

Then contact Brinkman for replacement ignitors.

My grill will no longer lights all three rows. I

My Weber is almost as old as yours and I had a similar problem. I removed the grates and cleaned the inside and checked the holes along the sides of the burners. The burners tend to build up cooking residue along the edge a restrict the gas flow. Try an aggreesive cleaning of the interior.

Gas Not Flowing

Try this. Turn tank off, open all three burners for a minute or 2. Close burners. Open tank very slowly. Open primary burner, (usually the front burner) and try to relight. Should work, but if not check that valve is secured to tank and check for leaks with soapy water.

Grill wont stay lit

These new tanks have a safety device installed in them . If you open the valve quickly or tip the jug the damn thang won't work. Take the tank loose, open all the grill valves and close all valves. Reconnect the tank and SLOWLY open the valve a hair. Light the burners. No need to open the valve all the way. if you do the dumb safety will plug the jug.

Burner replacement on Ducane 30400040

Remove the 2 grill wire cooking racks by lifting them out of the top of the grill, next lift out to remove the 3 heat deflector panels which exposes the 3 burner tubes. Remove the 4 screws located on the outside flanks (2 on each side) of the 5-knob control panel assembly - then gently slide the knob control assembly outward and away from the grill just about an inch or two. You can now remove the old burner tubes and replace them with the new units. Then simply slide the control assembly back into the grill frame and replace/tighten the 4 screws. Voila`
