Is the front wheel bearing on a 1993 crown Victoria sealed
SOURCE: putting wheel bearings on vehicle
I discovered how to remove the front wheel bearings by phoning a FORD dealer after spending hours on sites like this getting nowhere ! The problem with removing said bearings from a front wheel drive 1990 Taurus and similar is the bearing must come out from the inside of the hub assy. After you have removed the retaining nut and the axle flange still won't budge, you must disconnect the lower steering link {ball joint} and pull the entire drive shaft out of the center of the hub.Underneath the seal for the existing bearing there is a retaining clip that holds in the bearing. If you sand the bore where bearing goes back it should be able to get back in without too much fight.
