Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have a Maytag Washing Machine Model LAT2500AAE. It leaks drops of yellowish machine oil from the bottom onto the floor. The drops seem to be toward the back of the machine but on both sides. What can I do to keep this from happening? Thanks. Bonnie

check your water pump and hoses underneath. because if it's the tub actually leaking, you might as well look for a replacement

Lat2500aae We have a Maytag Performa, Model

it sounds like the shocks on the drum maybe failing. on this model the washing machine mother board is close to the outer drum. the out drum may have made contact with it. and not turning on the pump to let the water out.

How about loose fill hose connections?

How about incomplete shutoff of the internal fill control valve between wash cycles?

I NEED TO REMOVE THE FRONT OF THE WASHING MACHINE T

There are 2 screws down toward the bottom of the front of your washer. You remove these and grab the front panel and pull toward you and up and the 2 clips at the top will snap out. Hope this helps!

Hotpoint washer top loading has oil dripping on the floor

The only place oil can be coming from is the transmission. If left as is, leaking oil will eventually result in full transmission failure. Yes, you can replace the transmission, but the repair is costly and moderately difficult. I'd save the expense and put the money toward a new machine. Please don't bother rating this solution as anything but a FixYa will drop my rating.

Maytag LAT2500AAE- unbalanced

see if it has 4 adjustable feet on each corner on the bottom
get a bubble level from a hardware store and turn the feet to raise or lower OR you could use something else to raise the sides until it is leveled by looking at the bubble level.

hope this helps
thanks for your rating

Maytag Bravos MVWX700XL2 won't spin the clothes and is making a weird whining/whirling noise when attempting to do so. Hi, I have a Maytag Bravos MVWX700XL2. It's about five years old. For about a year now, it would occaisinally make a weird noise while washing that seemed to come from the agitator working. I know this sounds funny, but the noise sounded like a chittering squirrel. It didn't do it all of the time, just mostly when I would wash smaller loads. Today I noticed while doing the weekly laundry, that the agitator wasn't fully agitating. It was turning back and forth, but very slowly and not "mixing" the clothes like it usually does. I went though two loads like that, and on the third load, when it was time for the washer to rinse and spin, it started to make a whining/whirling noise and it would not spin out the clothes (but it did drain). The control panel is not giving an error code. I removed the wet clothes and tried to have it just rinse and spin or drain and spin empty and the strange noise continued w/o any success. I have a video of it making that noise that I can post/send if someone can tell me how. I paid over $500 for the washer, and I really don't want to have to replace it this soon, nor do I want a $300 repair bill. My husband is very handy and could fix it if we knew how to properly diagnose the problem so we get the correct part. Based on what I've read, could it be the shift actuator or a broken motor coupler?
